Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

With RTO coming soon, I am betting the forums

Will slow down a lot. Being in the office, you have no more time for fluff with management watching what you're doing. This forum is the most active of them all.

I haven’t been in the same city as my direct manager since 2019. Or my manager’s manager, for that matter. Walk up and down any cube farm and half the people are on their phones. They should be judging people by quality/quantity of work output anyway, not the hours they spend on it.

uh very short sighted as now that I'm back to trapped in a cube and can't multitask with home chores I get to sit there and stare at my phone during conference calls that are endless and don't require me to even say one word....

The person who wants to slack off, will slack off anywhere, either home or office. I have personally seen people watching youtube videos all day long at their desks.
With RTO, the non slackers were extra productive due to lack of overhead, now that will be gone.

The only good thing about RTO is getting back in the gossip loop.

I am definitely working on my (evil) loud laugh - like Doctor Evil shows us here: https://youtu.be/7edeOEuXdMU.

There may be many externalities/inconveniences... oh well.

Just don't use the company Wi-Fi connection. If you do, all traffic is captured - even if you are connecting your personal device. Helpful tip for those with low cell signal at their office.

This site has nitpicked and speculated ad nauseam about what may happen at the office, just wait until people are actually there.

You're right. The complaining never stops, only the subject changes.

Don't forget to be more productive while talking at the water cooler!

Try as they might, WFC "leadership" will not end the complaining here by forcing people into an office for 8 hours a day.

Ppl will use their phones to post, so I see no problem.

My manager and team are hundreds of miles away. This will not affect my visits here at all.

RTO won't fix the real problems - lack of real leadership. This board will not change.

OP I will take that bet! This is only the beginning…. Mid March, everyone will be releasing their frustrations on here and it will continue for a long time to come.

get your work done and your manager won't care what your doing whether he sits next to you or across the country. I guess with flex seating you could always make sure you aren't sitting next to them if you are worried they give a rats behind what you are doing.

Literally none of my managers are in my site. I will sit next to old coworkers but none who have anything to do with my job now. Alone in an office full of people only to be annoyed at having to talk on Skype calls all day in a noisy environment.

It's going to increase. You think layoffs are done? Big changes coming this year. Whole departments are being closed and employees moved to new positions - it's already happening this month. Lots more info to be uncovered and shared through maybe September. When everyone is in office that information spreads much faster and those layoffs are seen much more visibly than when people are remote. Be prepared for productivity to take a nosedive as well- along with morale.

Unless things have changed, our management has NO IDEA what we’re doing. They are always in meetings 24/7 (not available when we need them), locked in their office doing who know’s what, or on seemingly limitless PTO.
