I heard a rumor they will centralize the associate position in a low cost area. I know JPM already does this. Is it true? What is the timing?

Associate what? That can mean any number of jobs/levels of experience and career potential. If it’s a position that’s just meant to be cheap grunt-work you can never get promoted from while they hire externally to fill the higher level jobs, then sure, I guess that’s a strategy. If it’s part of a genuine effort to develop talent internally within a business then this makes no sense as eventually everyone will end up just in that once spot or may be required to relocate to get promoted. If they were going to do either though they might as well say “the job is the job and the pay is the pay, you can be remote so you can choose to live in a lower cost area if you want”… or just outsource to India because that’s likely cheaper than anything in the States.
