I heard today that they are going to be displaced? Anyone have any insight?

When are service managers supposed to be displaced?
Service managers know more than branch managers when running operations. When service managers go on vacation the branch manager doesn't know what to do behind the teller line. Displacing branch managers would actually be easier.

Generally, decisions like that are made by how many dollars can be saved... so go for the long-timers with the higher salaries.
Nearly ever service manager I’ve met has been super lazy and obsesses with figuring out how to get out of working as much as possible while keeping their job.
How do they determine which service managers go and which service managers will not be let go?
Service managers are in charge of the tellers on the line. Writing schedules, managing training, and half the time being a teller themselves. Also filing in for branch managers when they are out. A fairly essential part of branches in my area
What does a service manager do? Go ahead and roast me but not everyone knows every corner of the company. :)
I heard the position is not needed with the new centralized model, but a few will remain.
Associates will likely be next as pressure to reduce expenses continues and talent quits.
Will they all be gone or is it particular ones?
Yes March 17th is what I have been told. I will be losing all 6 of mine and then I am sure I’ll be next.
