Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What is the 3 days about

I understand we need to be in the office for 3 days. What was the thinking behind 3 days versus 2 or 4? Anyone out there have the inside knowledge?

Criming is so much easier when collaborating interpersonally at the office with chats at the water cooler. Much better than Microsoft Teams. Perhaps this is how Charlie is looking forward to leading a growth company?

ITS TO MAKE YOU QUIT YOU D-MBA*... You people have to be the biggest group of dipshts to walk the earth..

They want you to LEAVE ON YOUR OWN so they do not have to pay you a severance.

How do they do this? They make your lives miserable, but "legal." They change the bonus and merit increase criteria, they change the ratings system, they change the RTO.

These tactics are nothing new.

With WIM bouncing out of here soon, that won't matter much longer.

Have fun getting in home day care two days a week.

Same for senior care.

WFH is the wave of the future, if by future you mean 10 years ago.

WF is going backwards, which is a bad idea, because WF recent history is a bunch of crimes.

has your group had remote or flex employees?
ours had both. flex never showed up in the office (it was left to the mgrs to enforce) so it was a one big game of pretend.

World changed over the last 2 years. They finally caught up that the paradigm has shifted. Either offer some flexibility or suffer the consequences.

tech is different. if you are on an agile team you come in for just just the ceremonies. if you are not on agile then you come in 2-2-3 days per week.

At least on the brokerage side, The 3 days comes from OSJ (office of supervisory jurisdiction) rules for oversight & auditing. The 3 days comes from them not WFA. If you work from home more than 3 days a week then your work location has to be secure & compliant. An auditor can come to your “home office” (ie home) & audit your workspace. Obviously this is not feasible for anyone involved so by having us in the office 3 days a week that designates that as your workplace for review. Sorry conspiracy theorists but this has been the rules for years but was never a real factor until now with wfh & covid.

Because that’s what Chase did last July.

They had to go back to full remote, BTW, because of a COVID outbreak, and are about to try again.

Stupid is as stupid does. Seems like morale is not long a factor for having an efficient and effective company. WF is going nowhere with the current lack of real leadership. It's just SVB metrics for everything he believes. Too bad the agile metrics have been cooked.

It’s pointless. No tangible difference between full remote to 5 days in the office for the vast majority of the employee population. If you are in the C-Suite or one down maybe, but for 280,000 people it’s a complete waste.

They barely rolling out agile for everyone not just tech. This was sold to wf as a one size fits all approach for everywhere. Just wait

For as much as people post about agile here, you’d think we were actually a tech company, where everyone works in tech as opposed to under 10% of the employees. Is the average viewer of this site from tech, if so, I guess we all finally know why tech is always affected.

3 is the start to a slow walk to 5 days.

Actually, the idea was 2.5 days a week. Then changed to 3 days first week and 2 days in second week. Agile registered should come for only agile ceremonies, No 3 day/2 day fixed plans.

Even this RTO plan, we don't know how long they stick with this plan. They may go back to full Remote or occasional visit for festivals and group launch meetings. :)

Does it matter at this point? It's 3 days so go in or find a new job?

It’s close to half, and for most people, erring closer to what they had pre-pandemic than away from. That’s my best guess, any rocket surgeons out there?

Really fooking stupid considering all of my teammates are spread between the northern and southern Great Plains and up and down the Eastern seaboard. Pointless.

Idk just taking a guess that 4 sounds pointless and 2 says days isn’t enough to “collaborate” and they want us there more vs not being there.

None of it makes sense unless you’re in the c-suite. No sense in trying.
