With Julie passing (RIP), there's officially no one left in SF that reports directly to Charles. The vast majority in leadership are in NYC and Charlotte. Why maintain the charade in SF?

Sounds like that New Yorker needs to wake up. Non place is more expensive than NYC except perhaps Tokyo.
Get rid of all presence in the golden state. Too expensive and no execs there - inexcusable to keep up the charade. NYC is the new expensive HQ - wake up Chuck
Well, kinda. The vast majority of the executive team was in SF though.
In the grand scheme it doesn't really matter where the company is HQd, but if it's going to be NY, then just say so.
Does it really matter? Also, technically , didn't Norwest buy Wells and their HQ was in MN? So the tradition timeline is a little skewed.
WF Hasn't been headquartered in SF since Norwest bought them.
There is absolutely no need to have a West Coast executive presence when all other banking execs from every major competitor are in NYC.
