Some of us in ITV were fully remote since we were hired.

As to the kids pickup - not sure what is so shocking here, she is probably using her lunch break (since we are told to work 9h a day and have the lunch break).

As a single parent of two kids (one with special needs) I can only say that RTO will eliminate the possibility of working at WF due to the lack of flexibility. Yes my kids can be bounce around before/after school programs to ensure I only see them one hour a day and they're exhausted, angry and feel detached, as a result acting out and causing problems that I will then have to tend to, and miss work.
Or I could pick them up from school, be there for them, put a snack on the table and give them some crafts to do while I am finishing my working day. This is the bottom line for me. Why spend 2h a day commuting while I can do the same work at my home office. This just makes no sense. I don't ever work with people in the same geographical location. I like to get my work done and log off. I don't want to socialize with people or get promoted. I just want to have a work life balance and be there for my kids. And the current CEO and his policies are against working parents. Considering how much poorer we are from one year to another thanks to inflation (maybe except the top management who cashes in on significant raises and bonuses), this is an attack on working parents. For those lacking in the compassion department, consider the impact of aging population on the growth of the economy. Simply put, no kids, no growth. Look at Japan to see into your future. USA is one of a handful (and the only developed country) without the support towards ensuring the growth of the population through supporting parents and children. Sad, sad, sad.

@1edc+1feYzJU9 - Just more rah rah RTO bu-----t. He knows remote work is the future of corporate office jobs, but is too weak of a “leader” to stand up for what’s right. Sad.

The sudden All Hands call was all about RTO and location strategy for Corporate Risk. P. D. used the phrase “positive changes” three different times. None of the changes discussed were “positive.”

—March 14th is still the RTO date.

—There is no 100% remote option.

—Location strategy is loosened “as long as you are coming to a Wells Fargo office” (except recruiters and HR are not aware of this “change” yet).

Message:
—Back to the office

—Back to the office

—Back to the office

@1fhx+1feYzJU9 I don't have kids but anyone not living under a rock should know that just like everywhere else, childcare workers are hard to come by since COVID.

Maybe you're way up on the food chain with an au pair but a lot of working parents are doing the best they can with limited options. Maybe get off your high horse and not always think the worst of people.

Was childcare not an issue prior to COVID?

Wait so you’d pick your kids up then keep working? Why would you tell your manger??

I actually Inquired about this during the 1/10 RTO date. I need to get my kids mid-afternoon from school couple of times a week and inquired whether I could finish the rest of the day WFH. My manager reached out to HR to confirm and the options that were provided were: 1) reduce my hours per week (btw I’m a full time exempt employee) when I do leave the office early. 2) Use child daycare and pointed me to the benefits site for information on childcare options.

I don’t mind going into office but didn’t expect this strict requirement. Heck I even suggested I’ll come in 5 days a week as long as there is some flexibility around the days I need to get the kids. So far no response. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

@pxx+1feYzJU9 - Leader if our group was pretty forceful in that communication prior to the January RTO date.

@dch+1feYzJU9 where are you hearing no leaving early for appointments, family flexibility, and 8-5 only schedules, etc?

the only way to ensure people are actually coming to office is to monitor badge swipes as well as Netlogon's (this is how Citi does it). The netlogon will tell them that you actually logged onto the network from the location.

Following this as I’m in a similar testing group.

My guess is it’s the new stringent RTO expectations. No leaving early, work 8-5 or else, at least 3 days a week, pretend to be innovative and all the other bu-----t koolaid Chuckie has been pushing.
