Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Accommodations

If you are comfortable, please share the conditions/situation you are experiencing for which a work from home/telecommute accommodation was approved or denied. I have heard mixed feedback on how feasible it is to get an accommodation.

If denied, please share what accommodation was provided in lieu of WFH.

I myself have adhd and looked and didn’t see it under the disability categories that wf recognized on the list of conditions for accommodations. Unless it’s changed on there.

@1pul ADD & ADHD are disabilities. Just as PTSD, anxiety or depression are disabilities.

HR and LOB management have to approve.

Also I don’t think adhd is classified as a disability.

@1qja+1feX0Wtp - Why is your LOB involved in approval? Isn't this an HR decision? So much for confidentiality.

Are there two sequential approvals or just one LOB approval?
After submitting on line -
I recd. an email from HR saying I have LOB approval, and should keep the email safely.

Is such an email approval enough?

I have adhd and would prefer to wfh due to office distractions. Even after getting sign of from my Doctor, Accomdations acted like I was lying. The best they could do is get me a desk in a more quiet area and a standing desk. My boss on the other hand said I may be able to work less in the office than other coworkers but this is off the books. Overall I think the Accomdations team is just for show and then I can help meet their quota.

@rsg+1feX0Wtp - Remember RTO is meant to make you miserable (mentally and physically) so you quit, so don't count on any fancy accommodations, since that would require an assigned seat.

I'm pretty new to WF and I'm dreading the idea of working in an office location. I have a really screwed up neck and need a sit/stand desk and a really specific set up so that it doesn't re-aggravate the disc. My team will not have assigned seating, I think it's called neighborhood seating, so I'm concerned that I won't be able to get a set up that will prevent pain and numbness. Does anyone know if this is factored into offices in general or could I request an accommodation? I'm super worried about how this job will impact my health.

My accommodation is not posted to my workday but i was told it’s going to take awhile to the backlog. I have my email that says approved and management is aware. The actual process of approval only took a few weeks

My medical accommodation is not reflected on Our Workplace even though it was approved months ago.
My profile in Workday was accurate until a couple hour ago when it switched to show my location as the "office" I was assigned to prior to getting my accommodation approved. I still have all the documentation associated with the HR Case and approval but I don't trust them to not (at least try) to sc--w me out of it.

As it should. A lot of these are bogus.

Religious accommodations seem to be taking longer than medical accommodations. For a medical accommodation, HR will either provide a form for the doctor’s office, or if you are providing a doctor’s note, they will call and verify with the doctor’s office. Medical accommodations are reviewed every 3 months.

Religious accommodations go through ER as opposed to HR. An ER consultant conducts a meeting, and asks questions to essentially verify the sincerity of the religious belief(s). If the ER consultant determines it is sincerely held, it then goes up the chain for approval. This is where it seems to slow down. The ER consultant needs to obtain approval on their side, and also talks to your manager to determine if the requested accommodation is feasible. Even then, the actual approval seems to be taking some time. For example, for a request submitted at the beginning of December, and then accommodation agreed upon with manager by the end of December, there is still no official approval as of today. The ER consultant is also unresponsive to emails and Skype messages.

One thing to keep in mind is that if an accommodation is still pending, the employee can continue to work from home.

Medical accommodations get approved if appropriate after documentation form your doctor and they specifically say they have to be not related to COVID.

If you had one already before everyone WFH, they make you go through the whole process over again.

I have a coworker who got an accommodation for mental health. Her psychiatrist signed off on the paperwork and the psychiatrist was contacted by HR and had to approve the accommodation.

Health accommodations that are documented by a physician depicting the exact limitations such as walking, push/ pulling doors, some auto immune etc have been approved, but they do confirm back with physician to ensure it was written by them and correct. Still has to go through LOB approval and for some reason is not yet displayed on workplace. Care giving is something I know has been rejected for fmla use instead. Unsure about religious, haven't heard anyone say they received accommodation for that. Hope this helps.
