Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

How many of you even noticed there were layoffs last week?

I understand RTO is important to many people but you're missing the forest for the trees. While everybody is preoccupied with it, WFC just happily cut a bunch of older employees without anybody batting an eye. I'm not saying to stop discussing RTO, but pay a bit more attention to other things as well.

I wasn’t aware RSC’s were laid off, too..? Non-ECMO has started to worry. ECMO employees do know they will be displaced.

I’m praying I get laid off before Friday. I’m probably not that lucky.

Honestly the positions I saw displaced in ECMO were very valid working with the particular people and the lack of knowledge and execution. Their recent implementation of the change management framework was a nightmare for everyone involved and people are legit leaving the bank b/c ECM has not idea what they're doing.

ECMO in Orlando is done. They are losing their jobs in July they all got letters putting them in a temporary workforce share to help customer service call center til July. Also, WF pulled lots of people from all over to help customer service. Last week ORR reps in Orlando were let go too. They will not be going back to their jobs and WF is not back filling them. Lots of ECMO managers and team leads already quit. Find employment elsewhere asap.

It was discussed in another thread the day it happened. Nearly 50 in ECMO.

If you are in underwriting or loan origination no one is safe. 3 other of the top 5 banks are doing layoffs this week. Be prepared.

How would we really know if there were layoffs or not?

No one in our area, so nope did not notice. Should i track employees across every management chain?

We had layoffs, but while that loss presents a management issue, it really will not affect our day to day work. We've been told that management still thinks we're overstaffed.

Fake news. Fear mongers. 5-19 people in a 200K company.

I noticed. I had mentioned it was coming in several other threads.

End of March. Just watch.

More in July. More in Sept.

OP, I saw regional services had layoffs. I found out because we couldn't get help from one and then someone posted about them and due diligence on here. When you saw older employees do you mean employees that have been here a long time or old people. Someone who’s been here 12 years doesn't mean they are 60 y/o.

What happened?

Fake news. You have no context. Legacy employees have mandatory retirement clauses in the old cash balance plans.

Who cares about layoffs right now? It'd be a welcome treat.

RTO is a much bigger problem that needs to be solved. One or two geriatrics at the top shouldn't be able to ruin the employment experience for tens of thousands of people.

This is likely a function of the company's size more than anything else. If people are displaced in other business groups or across the country, often most employees aren't aware of it. So what groups are we talking about, and how many employees?
