If they want us to go into the office, shouldn't they have to pay us competitive salaries so we can afford to live within a commutable distance of the offices? (Which happen to be in overpriced shithole cities)

Inflation up over 7%, housing prices up WAYYY more... 2% raises... yea sorry you don't pay us enough for that.

@1rjb+1fYMIYHz , seriously, you are a du----s.

Companies have realized that they want the best talent and don't limit themselves to a specific geographical location. Especially international companies.

If Fiserv wants noob engineers to micromanage. They will bolt after they get their 6mo-1yr of experice to get a real job at another company. It will be more costly to continue to train people to leave.

If Fiserv hiriing practices were code.

whilte true: (Infinite Loop)

continue() #skips the sleep step
}
sleep(2 weeks)

I think most level headed people would say if you live near an office - getting there 3 out of 5 days is more than fine.

Define near? No, don't. I'll define it for you. Walgreens is a half-mile from my house. Target, Petsmart, and Best Buy are all 1.2 miles away. Supermarket is 3 miles away. With traffic, I can make trips to all of these places within 15 minutes.

For some of us, the office is 25-40 miles away, and with traffic, the commute becomes 1 hour + one way on a GOOD day.

So, level-headed guy, I'll invite you to re-examination and report to us your definition of "near."

Several tech companies went 100% wfh. Not startups either. Twitter for one.

Are the two WFH days Fiserv touts the weekends you’ll be working?

Watch up what you sign up for it will be 100% in office and you’ll be expected to move to an office location.

You people who think 100% WFH isn't possible must have your eyes in the sand. Doing it. Been doing it. Going to keep doing it. Period. All these dinosaur companies can keep you apologizers and stay stuck in the past with the huge office and all its attendant expenses.

So they are truly doing the laziest list possible. Not even bothering to check with the vacation system to filter out people who are on vacation. I guess the extra effort they use explains why they get a bonus.

This would only be embarrassing if we were a technology company. Oh wait.

Have you never heard of HYBRID work it means some days in the office each week and some days work from home. That is the model adopted by 90% of the Fortune 500. Get a clue, nobody, even Google and Apple are not 100% work where you want. If you want that find a start up where you will make minimum wage with a promise that someday you’ll be rich. Lol

@tud+1fYMIYHz, you would have to be a mo--n to believe that the WFH 3 of 5 days will last. It is just a stepping stone, and FB will cancel that as well. Just like he did for all the people that worked in the Hillsboro Office, Marrysville, and other locations that were told they could work from home. He got a bee in his pants and said no more working from home. Relocate or find a job.

Proceed with caution!

JOB APPLICANTS BE AWARE OF WHAT YOU ATE GETTING YOURSELF INTO.

Are other flexible / hybrid companies sending out to c the employees VP who didn't swipe their badge 3x a week - every week -- even when you have been out for vacation or a funeral?

"Most level headed people" = other boomer managers in the circles you swim in

Are you really going to sit here and lie that most people want to be in the office the majority of the time? There isn't a single survey that shows that. Most people want the flexibility to determine their own location knowing that they will be more productive that way. Butts in a cube does not equate to productivity boomer.

If you are an SME you can work from home forever.

Requiring 3 days in an office is not meeting associates more then halfway when you've always been remote and the office is 2,000 miles away

That is your opinion. I think most level headed people would say if you live near an office - getting there 3 out of 5 days is more than fine. If you live by an office but never want to go into the office then this isn’t the company for you/. In this case that is your choice.

I am sorry but saying the company offers flexibility while demanding employees are in the office a majority of the time is just nonsense double speak that only makes sense to boomer managers.

Stop whining the company already announced a new flexibility policy that allows work from office a majority which is 3 out of 5, which is more than flexible and clearly meeting associates more than halfway.

Most of the positions at this company can be performed out of office and most have been for 2 years.

It’s only micromanagement that demands a return. Should show clearly how innovative Fiserv is.
