Reporting can’t be done without data. Where do you work and do you need to badge out when leaving?

Uhhh, you know there are emergencies and evacuations that take place without setting off a smoke detector, right? Ever hear of an active aggressor? You can't set up doors such that the release hinges upon contract guards. They might be part of the attack, or already incapacitated, or just incompetent. Sleeping guards is rampant at nuclear power plants, safe to say it happens at banking admin sites.

As stated just after that post, it’s not very hard. The guards are pushovers for the most part, you just have to take the time to learn about them. They don’t work for WF, they are a third party. So they get removed from a WF site - they still keep their jobs and move to a new place. They really aren’t paid to take a lot of BS, so for the most part they don’t care. I should say this is for staff in WF buildings for the most part. It may be a different group doing security if it’s a rented floor in a building with their own security.
How did the guy get in without a badge? Is he just an id--t?

The guards are basically one step lower than mall cops. Overpaid high school dropout babysitters for the most part. They have zero power to do anything. I can’t count how many times I’ve had them let me in or out when I forget my badge. You just have to know how to talk to them.
DUC required badging out in Charlotte. One guy didn't have his badge and asked me to let him out, a security guard came over the intercom yelling "don't let him out!".
Yeah, I'll totally commit false imprisonment for you wells, seriously, you mean that much to me xD.
Needless to say, I let the guy out anyway.

facilities that have badge-in/badge out also have emergency release buttons so that if rapid exit is required everyone can get out immediately. it sets off an alarm floor-wide and to security. This is common practice and legal practice in many cities and many companies - required badging in/out.
St. Louis location requires badge in/out. Always has.
It’s amazing that people on this board do not think these have already gone through safety checks…. They release upon any alarm going off and the guards at the desk can release them. Lol @ thinking you would need to scan a badge to enter/leave during an emergency. No wonder this place is in trouble.

Those jobs are few and will continue to become more scarce except for maybe the top 3 levels. If your job isn’t at least partly run by metrics you should consider it at risk.

In an ideal world people would exit via stairwells 1 by 1 after the plane hits or the fire starts, but everyone knows that's never how it plays out. Having these installed can get people ki---d for no real good reason. If there's thick smoke and people are trapped or say even fireman with heavy stuff on their backs needs to get thru there, it could get people ki---d. These things block the flow of foot traffic and in any sort of emergency could likely get people ki---d. Everyone in these buildings should reach property management and voice their concerns, and also send a message to the fire department etc.. stupidity needs to be challenged more around here.

I'm shocked they allow this in high rise buildings. Seems like a massive death trap waiting to happen when there's a massive earthquake, fire, gunman etc.. that people are trying to flee from. NY Times headline, "Wells Fargo ki--s 800 employees trapped at exit point as they tried to exit fire". Actually people should contact police and fire depts about this risk for their own safety.

Mouse clicks, keyboard stuff blah blah, it might work to "catch" worker bees but the further up the chain you go the more thinking is involved. I spend a good amount of time reading or brainstorming. I'm often not using the PC at all. There's a work product, if that's getting done, mouse clicks don't matter much. I doubt that mommy tracker data would every be used for much, unless work isn't getting done I guess, but even then it's redundant / useless. Not getting the work done is all the justification you need for CA.
Nope. I’m in an SF high-rise with tenants other than Wells. I badge in only when I get to my floor, where there are two double doors to the north and south sides of the building. You can’t legally lock people in a building so the doors will never be outfitted with badge readers for exiting. It’d be too awkward and expensive to set up turnstile-type readers for a floor with a capacity of a couple hundred headcount.
I wish the company focused on making the place a better company instead of the spy stuff. It would have been great if all bosses took their employees out for lunch or dinner after the prior 2 years. Instead our computers are stuffed with like 20 spy programs driving the machines to a crawl. At my building they now have the revolving doors after we got back. Building is a dirty mess, but they have money for some very expensive revolving doors and pay half a dozen security guards to watch them. They require you to badge out. I frankly don't like even going in the office anymore, its like having big brother on your shoulder, just annoying to have to think twice before going for a walk or something with a co worker. The energy and vibe is beyond dead and installing those doors just makes it all the more uninviting going into the office. Feels like Russia or a Chinese CCP type deal.
Yes. They are also tracking IP addresses. Don't listen to those saying they aren't. So even if your building does not have badge readers, they are still tracking. They just haven't determined what they may do with the info.
But we can't move our mouse and innovate around the water cooler at the same time!
They are monitoring MyEd traffic, not sure about reporting, but they monitor the traffic on the network to make sure it doesn't get overloaded. Not sure if will start running reports

No. Maybe some but they got wise to that trick a while ago. If found and blocked they will auto uninstall and reinstall. Some [none here] will even brick the computer with a false error which then has to be brought to support to “fix”. As said below, it’s not just here. It’s everywhere. If you stay at WF or do not, it’s good to be educated about it.
With Task Manager, is it possible to detect all spyware running?

Correct. Some apps measure how far the mouse moves, time between movements, if other apps are running on top or below specific apps, keyboard idle time, amount of time it takes to perform specific functions in apps, user status timing, and so many more. Just jiggling a mouse might keep your screen active, but it will not be able to fake all of those metrics. It’s not just WF doing this. It’s deeply integrated into many industry apps these days across multiple platforms and enterprises.

@boy+1fVb8x4T Bad grammar but not wrong. It’s not your badge swipes rolling up to reporting. It’s the location services on your laptop that tells them exactly where you are whenever you’re working. Don’t fall for the mouse jiggler trick, btw. That night food your Teams/Skype status but not the productivity measures.
Our site has the revolving doors to badge no the in/out BUT a coworker found out the doors will just start on the out if you step in without badging. Try it at your site - worst case you stick out your arm to scan.
When our building first opened about 4 years ago, we used to have open access to our elevators. Then a bunch of protestors showed up, blocked access to elevators, harassed employees, and tried to get in the elevators to gain access to floors. Since that escapade, they installed revolving doors that require badge access to enter or leave. This is in Minneapolis.

I know this for sure. It’s an HR issue they have to iron out first. Employees individual network login location cannot be provided to management - even senior management currently.

Tip - find a door where the badge reader is close to glass. Badge out, then hold each other badge for coworkers you scanned in to the glass and scan them out from the other side. Most of them work as far as a few inches away, and will work through glass in some cases.
Yes, technically but we have more than a few other ways to get out without badging.
