Other places not only give promotions but the pay is much better. I've seen people here for 5-10 years stuck at what someone right out of college would land, its pathetic. If your looking job growth this isn't the place, they just hire from outside for management level roles. With the current inflation and their pathetic pay increase they gave me they can take this RTO and shove it up their as--s.

LOL @ufx and your white male tears! Did you even stop to think that it might be your deficient skills, lack of talent and poor performance that’s holding you back, DESPITE your white male advantages? Most of Wells Fargo’s leadership is still white and male, so clearly some manage to succeed in spite of the horrible oppression.
I've been here for almost 13 years and I've been promoted 4 times. I make almost 3x what I made when I started here. And it's still not enough quite frankly with how my role has expanded over the past 2-3 years. So, not impossible, but you have to work for it, have to position yourself, etc. Nobody is just going by every cube handing out promotions. And this is the same at almost every big corporation. You can't do status quo and expect a promotion.
keeping asking your boss what you need to do to get promoted and once promoted ask what you need to do to get promoted again. they aren't going to give it to you, you have to be proactive and push. Im a while male and have had many promotions over the years. and being underpaid when staying at wells a while isn't specific to wells, same thing happens at any company. people coming in new will be paid market rate. if you want to make market rate then you need to leave.
@ufx, incorrect. As a woman, despite exceeds reviews, 4s for years, I received 1 promotion in a decade.
My 'mistake' was apparently having kids. 🙄 WF is NOT working mother friendly.
If you’re a white male, just leave ASAP. You can be here for a decade plus and will never see a promotion, sure they will do lateral moves but that doesn't cut it. If you go to another firm you can be promoted a half dozen times, here NEVER promoted. I've been an Analyst for 13 years here, I have a buddy I left school with who went worked at a big consulting firm, I think he's already 1 level down from Partner. This place is great for some people, particularity if you’re Black or you’re in some in fashion minority. But if you’re a straight white male forget about it, this is a horrible place to work. Take your brains where they will be desired and they pay for intelligence. Don’t fight the system, just understand it.

Agree 100%. I was stagnant for years, finally got one promotion that got me in line with the job description I'd been doing for years.
I left last year after another pathetic increase even with another steller review.
Leaving I saw a 20% salary increase and in my first annual review with my new employer received a 3.5% salary increase and a 16% (target for role is 15%) bonus.
I was recently contacted by a Wells recruiter about a lateral job to what I left where the highest figure in the noted salary range is less than I make now. And we all know Wells does not pay the range max for any role.
