I quit working in 2009. I still do go to the office every day, none of my managers have stayed long enough to notice me.

I'm in the same situation as the OP.
I'm highly skilled, but am bored, and don't do anything anymore. I want to do a good job, but management doesn't care one way or another, so I don't even try anymore. That was a huge shift in my personal work ethic that was very hard for me.
I'm retirement eligible and am not going to go anywhere else at this point in my life. I'm just waiting for the Layoff shoe to drop. Can't come soon enough.

We have two in our site too. 8 hours a day with no work done. Both are LGBTQ, and whenever they even get a slight talking to about all of the time they waste sleeping, hanging out in the cafeteria, or walking around the building instead of working, they threaten to sue for bias and say they are being targeted because of their se-ual preference. One of them says she is basically untouchable because of her status. Management says it’s too big of a hassle to fire them.
I’ve got nothing against LQBTQ people at all but it gives a real bad name to those who need legal recourse when it’s abused like this.

One of my peers is a great worker, when he works. But he comes in around 7:30 or 8 and leaves everyday around 12, maybe 1, no later than 1:30. Our peers have complained about it, he's been with the bank for almost 20 years, minority. Our mgr. flat out told another peer... "I don't want to hear about him any longer, just leave him alone." Alrighty then. In other words, as long as I'm staying in the office with my other peers, it's okay that he goes home.

I know another person who did the same, sleeping under her desk for 4+ hours a day, then would take walks or hang out in random quiet rooms until it was time to leave. Managers said she was too hard to fire so they just let it go on until a year ago when she quit because she was bored.
Never happened
