BOA generally pays higher than WF, however, culture and the way employees are treated far worse than WF. Corrupt practices there just no one has really looked under the carpet outta a time bo-b
Worked for BoA. It was before the Wokeness, and Covid, and Dieversity efforts.
I worked at BofA. It wasn't the greatest experience, but it was much better than WF. Any company is better than WF. WF is the most corrupt, ridiculous company I have ever worked for - from the CEO down to the bottom feeders.
Not worth it. Stay here BOFA is way worse.
I worked at BofA a few years ago as a personal banker and it was a dreadful experience. They couldn’t hold on to tellers and kept making me fill in, sometimes for weeks at a time. And then tried to discipline me when my sales went down. At one point I got my boss’ boss on the phone and patiently asked him, over and over, to explain how it would be physically possible for someone to be opening accounts and selling mortgages while working teller lines chronically ten customers deep. It was like talking to a wall. I ended up quitting one afternoon without giving two weeks’ notice—and ignoring the frantic voicemails in the next few days to come back was a tonic for my weary soul.
BofA, like all other banks, are directing their customers to online banking and closing branches. A good call center employee can be trained to do what a Personal Banker does at a much lower cost.
Agree with earlier poster about years of service. If you’ve been with WFC for a while, you will have built up a cushion for items such as severance pay, vacation time and 401k match that may not carry over to year 0 at BAC.
It is a sales driven organization.
I recommend you look at BOA's layoff site. Sounds VERY similar to ours.

He said he was a personal banker at WF. He has about a 50/50 chance of keeping his job through the year.
You should not take it
2 big banks
How much do you lose by leaving Years of Service?
Are benefits better ? Health insurance especially matters
Are there intangibles that make it more attractive? Location, existing friend work there, etc
I'm not a fan of lateral moves unless you're in a crisis. Are you?
