Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

No more giving it my all

They showed us exactly how much they think we're worth with these ridiculous raises and bonuses, so it might be time we start making sure we fit into their view of us. Why should we work hard and give it all we got every day when in the end, we are treated the same as somebody who did their bare minimum? Bonuses and raises are supposed to be incentives to do better. Well, I'm certainly incentivized to do the exact opposite.

It’s people like OP that give me the opportunity to get over 100% of my bonus target. THANK YOU OP!!!

By insulting you with a low raise, it might be a roundabout way to get you to quit to reduce headcount.

Alert alert! Wells Fargo executives don't give a Jack Schitt about you or anyone else! What did you learn from the sales practices scandal? You should of learned that they will SC--W anyone, including their customers, for a few bucks! They don't give a FXXK about you! Don't work hard, GTFO and find a better company to work for! I did before it ki---d me.

I don't work here anymore and my mental health changed the month after I was gone. Fucx! Wells Fargo!

As someone who used to give it all and was recognized for it yet was only given insignificant increases over the years they only choice you can really have is to have a honest conversation with your manager to see if there's potential there or take the decision into your hands and find a new job. That's what I did I finally found a new job that that use me and rewards me

Instead of not giving it your all to WF, perhaps focus on 1) career development, 2) a search for a job with an employer who values hard work, or 3) continue complaining about your lot in life without actually taking steps towards improvement.

Your choice...

Good for you Op, no corporation that makes billions of dollars then makes us fight for every little thing is worth all your effort.
Oh, we only made $2 billion in profit last quarter but everyone except me must tighten our belts. Oh, and let’s hire a full staff of DEI execs so they can tell the rest how they are all racist and need to try harder.
I have zero respect for this company any more.

Wages haven't kept up with inflation for 40 years. Just FYI.

Learn new skills, make contacts at other companies, and move up.

Regretfully, I agree with the sentiment of OP's post. It's like a punch in the gut when you get a decent review + cr---y raise. If your raise wasn't more than the current 7% inflation rate, it's like getting a pay cut. Not exactly motivating.

For those people saying that poor comp must mean the person is a poor employee or not valued, that simply isn't true. I know people who were given Exceeds ratings and/or promoted during the year and given cr-p increases and bonuses. If somebody deserved a poor package, they certainly would know based upon their review and rating and probably wouldn't be upset if two and two matched. In many cases, it seems not to.

All we do is make rich people richer so going all out gets you nowhere. They will always pad the bottom line against the poors.

I think the only difference between this year and others is this site where people can 'anonymously' have a whine. In real life nobody in their right mind would be discussing salary and bonus information. Inflation is a global supply and demand issue that will pass. Nobody was complaining last year when it was non existent but now suddenly it's all the banks fault. Be thankful for what you have and if you're really not that happy, go somewhere else.

I agree with the op. I got a good review and my raise/bonus are more consistent with seriously needs improvement. That being said my manager had his "favorites" ... the special go to folks that always get the extra opportunities that get noticed . You can be amazing at your job but if there isn't something to make you stand out - be prepared to get next to nothing for a raise.
