Does anybody else think they never meant to go through with the 01/10 RTO? It's starting to feel like they're giving us these dates in hope of getting people who don't want to or can't return to the office to quit ahead of it. The more people walk away, the more money they save. Why offer severance when you can get people to quit?

I know of a manager that quit because her commute was going to be 6 hours to Charlotte when forced to RTO. I guess it is happening and they are counting on it.
I do not trust or respect our leadership, but NO: I do not think that.
Also - for those of you who cannot comment without throwing around typical over-used troll social media terms, such as “Snowflake”: I automatically assume you are not smart enough to express yourself individually and maturely, so I discount whatever point you were hoping to make.
and, I think they were also watching the government, so they could say, they 'were just following orders'.
Wells Fargo’s issue is that decisions come so slowly from senior management. So RTO that was ‘decided’ 2 weeks ago should have been made over the summer. Instead, it lingered and by the time they made the FTO plans omicron already appeared and nixed it. Just is…
They desperately wanted people to go back. Health conditions changed in December to the point where that can't be done safely enough to be worth the legal, reputational and safety risk. So they reluctantly moved it. End of story.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
Ok. Someone tell me again: 4 shots now and mandatory masks and we still can’t work together? But we can go next door to the coffee shop, wear no mask and spend hours together if we wish. I’ll give you until February to let that all sink in, perhaps the 5th shot will do the trick.
OP - paranoid much?
Seriously?
The amount of conspiracy theories on here is something.
Calm down sno-flakes
Remember what this RTO stuff is all really about: driving up the numbers of voluntary resignations so as to improve our "efficiency ratio".
They want you to self-select. The sooner, the better. If before bonuses, great!
It's going to be a long slog of a year AFTER bonuses. That's when we're going to see some ki11er turnover here.
OP - are you 15 years old working here as an intern?
Did you just seriously ask us to trust Wells Fargo management? Seriously?
OMG, the OP with the wild conspiracy theory, yet again. Will people ever trust this management to try to do the right things for the employees? There are some decent people out there, you just need to give them a chance.
I believe that Wells Fargo has made the correct decision, in the best interests of the employees, to cancel RTO. It shows that the company truly cares about the health of their employees and the employees families. The current news is now everyone, vaccinated or not vaccinated against Covid, can become infected with Covid and spread it to other people. This is a sad state of affairs right now, for sure.
