For many years I blamed myself for not getting certain jobs at Oracle. In my unit, a mostly irrelevant GBU, jobs the last 10 years went to people who were part of a certain acquisition or part of some “in” crowd. As time passed, I saw colleagues at properly run orgs grow and progress. Heck. Even people I knew at large companies like Amazon were growing. I blamed myself. Only til myself and others put the exec rats on blast did they seem to wise up like proper children and do right. When I look back at my time there, I realize that it wasn’t me but just a lot of poor filthy humans who wanted to keep their inner circle close. 35% of my unit at oracle has left the last 5 years. If you are still at oracle experiencing any of this, start interviewing anywhere you can. Companies of all shapes and sizes are offering more. Better culture, better pay and better benefits. There are more civil suits coming as well.
Just know this. If you worked hard and had good qualifications and never got anywhere at Oracle, it wasn’t “you”, it was them. These people are going down hard and they know it. Recently Safra was made aware of several incidents and Dorian Daly’s legal team is investigating several offenders.
The executives are on their way out and even may be sued for abuse, so people are aware. They’ve been doing this stuff for too long and the chickens are coming home to roost.
