It is entirely possible that after they hit send, some of the other executives changed their mind and they were able to cancel the email before it went out because the management Covid notification group box is on a 1 minute delay to minimize the frequent policy changes, hey it’s not a change if the email didn’t go out!
5:36pm where I am. No emails. And I fr3aking hate to say it but I don’t think we will get any emails. OP probably was either giving false hope and playing with us giving us stress not sure. If there was going to be an email, it should’ve come in by now. We are effing doomed to go in on the 10th and there is nothing we can do and they don’t give a cr-ap if we get Covid or anything. Ugh. Or maybe I just hate myself for being hopeful about this email.

Pure speculation that RTO is revised to volunteers -- as in "hey, you're invited back" with vague promises of perks, rewards, bribes. And if you really want people back in the office, toss out that petri-dish "open office" unassigned seating -- WFT is this f--c-k-i-n-g junior high lunchroom b.s. to get a place to sit every day? And oh, I can get a locker? F--c-k yeah, this is a world class soul s-u-c-k.
Too many companies are pushing RTO back and from a public relations standpoint would look bad if Wells was one of the few that didn’t and there was an outbreak.
Another thing. Omnicron is mostly mild for those who has the vaccine and while there has been less death, apparently hospitalizations are fairly high (esp in unvaccinated). Not to mention that the most prelavent flu strain going around was not one of the ones the vaccine was designed for. Lots of people in the hospital and these 2 things could lead to more hospitalizations (when most hospitals are already busy).
Just not a good PR thing to bring people back into the office right now.
OP here - this has been confirmed by my HR/CPG friends just for those scheduled to go back on the 10th (no new RTO date for them but if they're vaxxed they can go in if they want). For now the teams going back in later February will probably still do so. Email from Scottie P. coming Monday.

1/10 still exists, but it's becoming "voluntary" and for vaccinated employees only, so same as current situation and let's be honest, nobody's going to show up. I think they won’t make a formal announcement, but trickle the message down through managers that is is optional, for now.
So any news on when it will be delayed to? March? Or later? This is so frustrating for people who need to relocate
@1ike+1el91LOd the risk is you have whole departments in quarantine or out on leave at the same time. The operational risk of an entire department could be a detriment to work. It also doesn’t read well in the news that 3,500 employees out with delta/omicron two weeks after return to work.

For what it's worth I am close with a few folks in CPG and heard the same as the OP. Strong indications that 1/10 will be pushed.
Yeah they will just have to hold onto the kit just like the masks, tiny as* sanitizer, and all that from like a year ago LOL
@cqr Having a kit doesn’t matter one way or the other. They will just tell you to hold on to it for later. You have to take multiple tests so it’ll be fine. I don't know if RTO will be delayed, I’m just saying this is no reason to say it isn’t happening.

I don’t think This is true. I know for a fact that team members have received their covid test kits. they spent the money and are not going to change it now
It's true. New communicatiin coming shortly. Those of us responsible for writing this stuff are as frustrated as the rest of you.
They have also proven time and again that they cannot assess the risk of COVID, the impacts on the business, get themselves ready for RTO, and are basically incompetent. They don’t care about employees at all, which is why we’re in this “RTO or not” position now. Just another way to add unnecessary stress to our lives!

I think the reasoning is that in the past they'd provided us, what -- a month notice for each of the RTO dates?

Can't say I'm surprised. Beyond COVID itself, I'd bet there are all sorts of snafu's out there from so many being out of the office for so long. Whatever I left in the office is hopefully packed up and I'll have to go hunt that down. I've run into at least one person that never got a badge b/c they started during WFM and have been remote the whole time.
