My take is that he saw the writing on the wall and a potentially shrinking org, then decided to nope right out. When SVB came in it seemed like he got knocked down a few pegs, then seemed to regain some things. That org was much larger a few years ago but they moved things around and shrunk it.

He'll do well at AXP.

In other news several other middle level execs are bailing as well.

For those of you thinking about 401k or bonus-- keep in mind that many companies recruiting at those levels will make them "whole" on things like that as part of a hiring package.
