From the time you submit the form, when do you hear? And how long was whole process?

I saw the writing on the wall with the frivolous RTO as it is very apparent Schart, Powell, and the loser OC kiss ups are he-l bent on making employees lives miserable to force attrition so they can pad their own bank accounts and stonk options, so got the accommodation already. It was surprisingly easy other than having to be passed to 3 different people to get it done. Goes to show how disorganized they are, one person could have processed this in two or three days at the most.

Everything is frozen until Jan when the new HR system goes live. You're not going to hear anything until then.

They must be very backed up because I filed mine almost 2 months ago and while they talked to me and my manager now they have ghosted both of us, we cannot get a response.

In the words of Jerry “The King” Lawler… “frivolous lawsuits are great! We need MORE lawyers in this country!”

Um.. as much as it pains me to state that obvious.. this post was about medical accommodations... not religious. Start your own thread... d-mba$$!

Not knowing what religious exemption just shows you’re not ethically trying to get one approved. That’s a shame..

If you need someone else to tell you what to say, is it really your sincerely held religious belief?

Frivolous = fake, feigned, used as a way to avoid company policy.

I am curious (genus) for what reason people are submitting religious exemptions? I would gladly submit one as well...

What would be considered frivolous? Especially if a doctor has written a letter with the recommendation? Genuinely curious

Wells is not going to risk (from a legal or public relations perspective) returning to the workplace an individual that has a legitimate pending medical accommodation request.
I know whereof I speak. I was directly advised, during the process, that provided I had a legitimate accommodation request in the process when my group RTO - I would remain at home until a decision was made. It was also communicated to me that frivolous requests - submitted only for the purpose of not RTO could result in termination.
If you've got a legitimate health concern then submit it - otherwise simply go back and not wreck your career.

OP - thanks all was just curious to hear personal experiences. I also thought that you’d only remain remote if you had one already approved and we’re trying to re affirm it.

"If someones religious believes or medical conditions leave them unvaccinated, but you get sick from them, then at least you can blame the vaccine while you have less chance of being in the hospital. Yet you have an equal chance of getting covid from someone vaccinated, so I'll pray for your speedy recovery anyway."

This guy's vote counts as much as yours lmao

If you have a pending medical accommodation request at the time you are supposed to RTO (open HR case) you will remain WFH until a decision is made.
FYI - the website is a better source for this particular type of info - otherwise you won't know if someone is just blowing smoke or what.

@mjb+1eeI5d2x—No, we’re supposed to passively allow them to impose their religious beliefs on us, come whatever risk to life and limb.

If I get sick because someone with a religious exemption infects me, will his or her imaginary friend cover my hospital bills?

OP-
Thanks all. I submitted a letter from my doctor with my request so I hope that helps speed it along. I’m so sick to my stomach I may have to go back if it’s still in limbo. Idk what I’ll do.

It was really quick for me. I submitted it. They requested I sign a medical release of information form and return (which they allow you to sign electronically). They sent that to my doctor and I heard back within a day or two that they were meeting with management for approval. Subsequent to that I was approved within 24 hours so about 3 or 4 business days all together.
That being said - mine was submitted in early November. I hear requests are backed up now which makes sense. I am sure a lot of people, once they realized that exceptions to RTO policy weren't going to be approved - decided to give medical accommodation a shot so it's taking longer. They did keep me informed with a time-line so I imagine they'll do that now too.
Good luck!

If it’s medical, it seems like that is going through HR. Once you submit the request, HR will contact you for an interview. That can take up to two weeks. When they conduct the interview, they ask you about the medical reason provided. Then you have an option of either having them send a form to your doctor, or you can provide a letter from your doctor. If you provide the letter, they call the doctor to obtain additional information.

Religious accommodation requests appear to be going through Employee Relations. Once you submit the accommodation form, you are contacted for an interview, where they ask questions to determine how sincere your beliefs are, and whether the request is for testing and/or vaccinations. Currently they are still working through the backlog, so if your request is approved, they are still determining what accommodations will look like.

They are very backed up. And it is a long process currently, especially if it's not pertaining to a handicap or medical issue {not counting covid}.
