I only met one person that I know would come back here. The guy definitely had a bad luck after leaving ATT and he ended up in an even worse company. He is the only one I know that would come back, while all the others found much better jobs. I’m surprised at how much progress some of them made after they left or got laid off from here.

Many people come back.....I keep seeing folks who were surplus to IBM getting hired back and it is a good thing as a lot of these folks were model employees and...Trust me.
No way would I ever return to work for AT&T. I left in September 2021 and I wish I would have left sooner. It used to be a great place to work but now now. They are forcing their beliefs and agendas on the employees and I was sick of it. Thankfully I was able to leave because I wasn’t going to be forced to be vaccinated, the blaming of white people for problems pi---d me off, mandatory meetings and calls to cover racial issues was unnecessary, now AT&T has a black engineer award… I believe a workplace should be free of discrimination, harassment etc but the company needs to deal with the individuals that do not adhere to the COBC and other policies but not everyone. If you’re going to have an award, leave color or race out of it. I am white and I am not part of the problem that AT&T seems to think white people are. I thank God every day that I was able to leave and I will not work for a contractor either.
If pay is good and WLB decent why not? I wouldnt suggest coming back until Stinky is gone though.
Been to two companies since I left att - I would go back to those two in a heartbeat as they were much better managed companies. no way I would go back to the cesspool att.
You would have to be really desperate to come back here.
I know some people that were laid off a year ago and returned to the same or a little bump in compensation packaged, bridged seniority, and a much better run organization. It does happen
It’s worth it if you are eligible for a pension, trying o get to your mr75 date. Also, a lot of retired folks return because T pays them very well as a contractor to return. They have their lump sum and 401k. What stress do they now have to return. I don’t think they will stress about not getting work done or if a customers is not happy if they’ve made it to the end and they are now a contractor.
If the job is a good fit, and seniority is bridged so one is getting a lot more vacation time than starting somewhere else new, I could see, and have seen people returning.
After layoff, what is it - 3 years to bridge seniority?
I came back after a layoff , but that was 16 years ago.
I was in a rust belt city where any job was scarce.
I've made MR75, I suspect the next layoff is my last.
Surprisingly their are a lot of ST titles on HR rehire site in ATTSE area.
I would imagine anyone returning can't get better pay anywhere else. Why would anyone return to a company where layoffs are so frequent and go through that again.
Those who are able to get equitable and better pay have invested time somewhere else. In a lot of cases, people willing to return probably aren't the ones you would want to return.
I'd go back. I'd remarry my ex-wife, too. If my life depended on it.

No, I will never come back. I left on my own and am so much happier now. I come back here to see what is new with the train wreck.
Good pay for easy work. Who wouldn’t want to return?

Oh any VP who was foolish enough to leave would ki-l to come back. Most of being an AT&T VP (or higher) is performance art. Where else could they find a position with such a fabulous compensation package that requires them to know and do so little of actual value?
A surprisingly large number would actually love to come back. Let’s take all of the recently accelerated retirees hoping to work “two more years” for the last decade! And then the thousands of surplussed employees over the years who really only had skills centric to T applications and systems worth nothing in the commercial tech market.
In IT, I have seen contractors return 2-3 times.
I hear Jussie might be making a comeback soon. Co----e and bathhouses, he's a perfect fit for the executive penthouse in Dallas.
Unless you're landing at least 3 levels up from the old role, it's not worth it.
