Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Vaxx discrimination

Anyone out there wondering how weekly testing for the “un vaxx” makes no sense? Shouldn’t everyone get weekly testing? The vax are not protected from getting Covid after 3 shots and many more to come. Almost all staff have gotten Covid and mostly all have gotten the shot. Word is that the infrastructure bill that was passed, provided clearing for the government to fine corporations that still had employees not complying with the mandates. Absurd how rights are getting taken away from us. We are turning our world up side down. Don’t fall for the headlines of all the people dying from “unknown causes” blaming it on the cold, stress from work etc. Stay strong

@1wjr+1ecY9IUu lol indeed, can't be comfortable reaching that deep into your own crevice to find all the B S.

Someone is going to write a book, if they haven't already, about people like @1wjr+1ecY9IUu, and why they feel the need to spread misinformation about a deadly pandemic that has ki---d over 750,000 Americans, and millions worldwide.

They must not like themselves very much and want other's to suffer.

lol, if "breakthrough cases" were actually rare, the data from around the world would look MUCH different than it does. At this point it's become quite obvious that neither government action nor vaccination has made any difference in infection rates. There are countries with militant lock downs with low infection rates...and ones with high rates. There are countries with high vax %s that have low rates...and ones with high rates. The opposite is also true, and depending on what narrative you want to build you site the specific countries that help support it, but looking at them all collectively there is no evidence that destroying the economy or taking dr-gs helps with infection rates. In breaking news, government is ineffective and inefficient.

@yal+1ecY9IUu you confuse what you call antivax with pro freedom. Your mind needs to expand slightly. If someone wants to vax, then vax. If not, then don't. I have been vaxed, but I resent being forced to do so. Don't be so narrow-minded.

JLL Technology
No vaccine surveys
No vaccine or test requirements
No discrimination

To all you useful id--ts who are not confident in your choice you know that if Trump was in office you would be standing with your buddies Biden and Harris not taking a vaccine which is what they both said last year. Lol

"If you have to test to go to work, then why is the mask required for unvaxxed?"

Answer: There is a period where you can be contagious and not yet test positive, or just test negative falsely even after, so the obvious protocol is to continue to wear a mask regardless.

The funniest antivax posts are the ones where they admit to not understanding a very simple point as evidence of some sort of conspiracy.

TL;DR -- huge liability in WF handling of RTO

Don't worry, Lawyers are already talking about discrimination based on COVID-19 vaccine status, https://www.eandblaw.com/employment-discrimination-blog/2021/07/22/states-begin-legislative-process-to-protect-employees-against-covid-19-vaccine-choice-discrimination/ Logic doesn't apply in copy-cat big companies -- it would be easier to quietly let folks who can work from home. The cover-up to make terminations seem lawful will be nearly impossible.

If you won't or cannot take the vaccine, then seek a medical accommodation (which is a horribly intrusive process at WF), and if they test anyone, they need to test everyone. It would be better to do like airports do with the flu. Monitor the temperature with a thermal camera, then take aside those with temperature for quarantine. A specific condition for testing rather than an employee survey.

Remember, disclosing your vaccine status telegraphs to the company if you have a medical condition. The logic is they care about us and don't want the liability of spreading COVID, so test. Focusing on the un-vaxx buckets individuals with legitimate medical or religious reasons with people who simply don't like the politics.

If you sought accommodations, asked for a medical waiver, then still get laid off it will be a jackpot for law firms. That's one of the many golden tickets for the discrimination cases to come. Remember, if you run a PCR test for enough cycles then everyone is positive for coronavirus -- otherwise false negatives are likely.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7833523/
https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/letters-health-care-providers/potential-false-results-roche-molecular-systems-inc-cobas-sars-cov-2-influenza-test-use-cobas-liat

Even with the vaccination it can spread, even with testing it doesn't detect variant, so the less the company knows about your vaccine status the better. If there was a wrong way of handling this from a legal protective then these big banks are making it. WF needs to stop being a follower because that guarantees us at the end of the pack.

The move back to the office is about hitting staffing numbers. Many remote jobs make more sense to put in India/Philippines to lower costs. Because before the pandemic is was safer to let people remote if position allowed it no questions asked. Individuals with disabilities, medical conditions, or a long-distance from an office didn't have to disclose anything.

Take care of yourself. If you're not seeing the massive liability problem WF is set up for itself. Fortunately, I have the vaccine, but if I was going to be tested I'd go to a doctor. Not a CVS/Walgreens, or someone standing around in security. The nasal swab test has led to medical problems.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/ninashapiro/2020/10/05/covid-19-nasal-swab-test-led-to-spinal-fluid-leak/

Anyone who knows about more sensible companies, please post. Finding a new position is much better than this mess they are making at WF.

Interesting one side is saying that the other side’s science is “made up”. There have been enough questionable actions over this whole pandemic that should have everyone saying we need to take a step back and review everything. There appears to be many conflicts of interest and since we are all humans, we know we have biases. Every single one of us. What is wrong with just backing off and taking a closer look at all of this?

Science says the unvax are putting the Vax at risk of... Catching the disease? I don't really get it, it's not like other vaccines. I don't get three flu shots in a year.

OP even the new omni strain has not shown what it is yet. But politicians are clamping down on the people, like tyrants. We need to just go on and exist with flus and covids and so on, but people should be vaxxed. But if not, it is a free country (should be anyway) and those who don't trust others should wear masks. We are all adults. We began free, let's stay that way.

LOL.

"Every town hall needs to have this question brought up - ‘how are you ensuring employee safety seeing how people that were vaccinated are now spreading the virus as much or more than the unvaccinated population?"

This is 1000% not true and it's deliberate misinformation meant to keep the pandemic going and make the current white house resident look bad in the next election.

Nice try, Vlad, go back to FaceBook.

What? They kicked you off for making up science stuff?

Bummer, dude.

South Korean has a great testing strategy and less dead people per 1000 than the US.

Testing should have been a major part of our strategy, but someone said "we have more COVID because we do more testing" and "slow the testing down, please!"

This is of course one of that guy's d-mbest things ever said. It's like saying we have more babies because we have more pregnancy tests.

The parts of the country that voted for that guy are behind on vaccinations and people there dying at three times the rate of the more vaxxed parts of the country, so this problem may correct itself with time, I'm sorry to say.

There is some good news out today, Pfizer says people with two jabs and a booster are pretty well protected against Omicron.

Thats contrary to what some people have posted here in the last week or so, relying on Doctor FaceBook for their health information.

There are a lot of people here upset that they'll be required to get tested or vaxxed to go to work. That's too bad, you're free to make choices about your life but there are consequences to your choices.

This website has lost it's usefulness and devolved into a low rent FaceBook, filled with people kicked off social for posting misinformation and h@+e speech, so while I'll check back for info on layoffs, I'm outta' here for awhile.

Hope you all have a great Holiday season and 2022 is a better year for you all.

The only way to do this is to have 100% testing.

OP You lost all credibility with the statement: “Almost all staff have gotten Covid” However I do think you probably believe your own bs.

Simply not true. Otherwise, back it up with facts and figures published by WFC.

I’ve worked here for a long time and have many friends throughout the organization. While I know there are employees who are catching it, none of the people I know personally have caught it. Not one. The people I know from work who have been vaccinated, worn masks and practiced social distancing and WFH have all remained uninfected.

it isn't weekly testing for unvaxed it is weekly testing for those that chose not to submit proof of vaccination, unvaxed or otherwise. no mandate and you still have a job even if unvaxed or chose not to disclose.

Not sure where you get your information. Aside from the fact that we don't know a lot about omicron, I've not been able to find anything about vaccinated people being more susceptible.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-59573037 - it's pretty much the opposite of what you're suggesting. No wonder they ignored you.

I wrote to the RTO email and asked this very question. Last week when the BBC published a news article that 55% of the Omicron cases were of the vaccinated, I sent that article and asked why not test everyone?

In a copy/paste response, the person replied that breakthrough cases were extremely rare and WF is continuing with current RTO protocols.

So no actual medical / scientific / safety / liability reason just "why doesn't Johnny have to eat his vegetables, I did?!?!"? Got it.

I guess it makes sense coming from the crowd that thinks their dr-gs only work if some random guy half way across the country also takes it.

@jtg+1ecY9IUu letting the unvaccinated continue to work from home because they don’t want to act responsibility and get vaccinated, is ultimately rewarding children for negative behavior. Those of us who are vaccinated aren’t just going to waltz back into the office knowing that our unvaccinated peers are sticking their middle fingers up and cooling their heals at home. That’s not gonna pass HR mustard. Sorry.

From what I gather here, the vaxxed believe that the unvaxed are endangering other people and don't want them around. Solution: make the RTO policy only applicable to the fully vaccinated, while the unvaccinated remain on WFH.

Before you start blathering about fairness or some other whining not relevant to the problem at hand, provide a medical/safety/liability reason why this proposal doesn't make sense and we'll go from there.

They need to replace Christmas with a National Vaccination Holiday.

That would solve a lot of problems. The DE&I crowd wants to do away with Christmas anyway, and it would give the unvaxed time away from work that they'd already have off, to get vaccinated.

Sounds like a win win.
