Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Company mandate

Has anyone put in for medical/religious exemption? Get a response? Also if you get the shot now that Verizon demands it do they become legally liable for any reaction up to and including death?

If there was no benefit to the vaccine then why do the top doctors in the country promote it. Unless of course all the top doctors through out the country are in on the big scam. And the only people telling the truth are the pundits on fox news. I don't know about you but if I need heart or lung surgery I'm going with the top doctors at Penn or ucla or Harvard and gonna pass on tucker and Hannity. But you believe who you want !!!!

“ There are some who swear they will quit before getting g the vaccine. Who thinks they really would?”

Why wouldn’t they? This is seriously the most unnecessary bs. For those of us who have loved what we do at this company and have been here a long time, this is insane to be in a position where we’re having to choose between our health and beliefs and our jobs.

Maybe it doesn’t seem reasonable to some people who have chosen to get the vaccine.. but imagine if you truly did not want to make this medical decision. Why would you choose a job over your health?

This vaccine does not keep “co workers safe.” It has no impact on preventing transmission so why should it be required? To pretend like there aren’t risks to this vaccine is completely naive. There’s no logic behind any of this other than pleasing master Biden and big pharma… (and who knows what other agenda is behind this)

But, I’ll absolutely be leaving the company and am preparing to do so. I’m not willing to put that in my body. The risks of taking that do not outweigh the benefit for me, personally. And Verizon is not worth taking that risk, as much as I love my team and love what I do. It’s unfortunate.

Tired of hearing about the Knuckleheads who refuse to get vaccinated. If you want to continue working at Verizon, get Vaccinated. Stop trying to find loopholes

Can anyone tell me me which religions were submitted and approved? Or is it just arbitrary on which submissions get approved or denied?

What religion are you? Mainstream religions all support the vaccine.

It doesn't need to be based on a religion. Any strongly held conviction is enough to legally opt out.

Just say you are scientologist. They oppose most mainstream science and medicine and companies don't want to mess with them.

Just because your in a religion that agrees with BIden and his mandate does not mean you have to. Your faith and belief should be judged not the political correctness of a religion.

Mine was approved, another person who works in my garage was denied. It has to do with what your religion is. Leave it at that.

Even with the mandates companies were not removed from all liability according to the bloomberg law article I read. Now that is just the "opinions" of a few high paid lawyers working for a large legal publication saying the mandates need liability shields for companies so of course random facebook memes are more accurate in this era.

The best bet you have is from a State level things getting shut down for vaccination mandates, federally doesn't mean sh-t, and your worker rights being enforced for right to choose definitely will be defined by state level than Federally. Companies can have their own policies but if your state enforces no vaccine mandate then you have a leg to stand on. Document everything in how you get handled and if you get fired even after the state mandate being in place get the best lawyer in town and sit back counting Verizon Pesos. Title 7 of the Civil rights act of 1964 look it up. Have a great Holidays everyone. And remember no signing loudly unless vaccinated and make sure your song of choice for family get together is LETS GO Brandon 🥂

The anti vax, anti union guy that posts here and votes various comments up/down 50 times should put in for an exemption for having an IQ of 37. He can prove that with no problem!

Yep, they have been responding for a while. I personally know of 2 acceptance and 3 denials. I've posted excerpts from the email responses in other threads on this site (I don't have links handy).

So far, I don't know why they allow some and deny others.

When you're denied, they tell you to keep working, face covering, etc. And that you need to be vaccinated by a certain date or you'll go on unpaid leave.
