I am told weekly that my job is going away,QA Software Analyst, but they can't tell me when just this year. This has been going on for over a year and I have seen many QA people either let go or moved under a different title doing the same work. I was at first very stressed now I'm just ready for my severance. It is mentally and emotionally exhausting.

We're also hearing that vacated positions will be "preferentially" backfilled from India.

My take on that is that mgmt knows there's going to be an exodus, and they're already prepared for it. I wonder if management is able to hire quicker in India, versus hiring in the US?

Expect more movement regarding Layoffs in early April, and then ramping up in June.

Current chatter says they're waiting to see what the numbers are following an expected burst of "voluntary separations" in mid Feb.

A second, but smaller "wave of voluntary separations" is expected in early May due to April having 3 paydays, as well as historical profit sharing bonuses for some.

Does this mean the HR group that facilitates layoffs will get laid off?

can't do layoffs in jan since there are reviews, comp discussion etc . they figured that out last year what a disaster that would be given that systems access is immediately cut off and then nobody has access to the CP&D of the displaced manager (yes, you can submit a ticket but it takes weeks to get re-assigned).

So they skipped last jan for that reason, and probably this jan as well for the same reason since nothing's changed about CP&D. Expect the activity to pick up again in Feb or March.

Okay so @yux+1eZcAseZ are you saying that you are not a top person because you didn’t get a job outside of Wells Fargo? Think what ever you want about WF but the leadership is not stupid. They know exactly what they are doing and just because you think they are Top they think if someone wants to leave it is time for them to leave. People leave WF for many reasons. Hopefully good decisions. I have changed Companies 4 times in my carrier and moved between jobs every 4 years at most within the companies. That is how you grow. You don’t think that they also want new fresh top performers and guess what they will get them. I just don’t think it is good to think that you know what these guys plan is. It is about shareholder value. They know exactly what is going on

I have not heard anything about no layoffs. Probably the opposite. Technology has a big gap so i would be glad if there were no layoffs but I would say layoffs in US hire in India will continue. I have not heard or seen anything that would say anything different. Where is the Layoff’s are over communication?

The "Great Resignation" is good for managements numbers, but what they don't understand is that it's the top people who are the ones who are quitting.

I’m wondering if the “great resignation” has been a boon for the pay roll cut initiative. Just keep giving people 2% raises when inflation is 7-8% and then when people bail for higher pay don’t back fill the jobs unless it’s absolutely necessary. Same outcome as layoffs (although less targeted) without the bad PR.
