Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What kind of work do you do?

Wondering what the demographic of this forum is like. Mostly tech workers? Something else? What's your general line of work?

The most challanging part of my day is figuring out something I can say during the never-ending "agile" meetings.

I've automated my own job to the point where it takes me about 15 minutes to do what formerly took me a week. But I ain't telling anyone that!

And. If the automated stuff in my now-automated job fails, they have no idea the world of hurt they'll be in. The stuff runs good, but if it breaks it don't fix itself.

I work in ICS but do nothing but twiddle my thumbs all day. One of my co-workers constantly self-promotes themselves but is in the same position: there is simply not enough meaningful work to go around.

Before my boss was "retired" it was a constant show of "look at what we are doing" even though we were doing duplicative work that was already done by others. When my boss was finally kicked out of here, ALL of her meetings, emails, status updates, status powerpoints, etc., etc., vaporized and not a SINGLE person or group asked about any of it.

It’s mostly tech and trolls. You can barely tell them apart until they talk about vaccines/RTO.

“Bob Slydell: You see, what we're trying to do is get a feeling for how people spend their time at work so if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?

Peter Gibbons: Yeah.

Bob Slydell: Great.

Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door—that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh—after that I sorta space out for an hour.

Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out?

Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual work.”

@eic "anti-vax/conservative/russian trolls"

They're not even subtle about it, it's ineffective because it's such an obvious coordinated effort.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I do work tech for the bank, but the normal day to day is slow enough that I can troll this place since there's so little actual value in what's posted. I was a little late to the party.

I miss the person who would drop exec-level meeting info. That was useful. RIP poster was barely useful. The rest of this site is mostly ripping the execs (deservedly so) for their ongoing failure and anti-vax/conservative/russian trolls.

So, drivel it is.

Yep. Like most who post here, I don't even work there. (Nor would I. I had a couple friends survive it for a couple years, and they warned me off.)
