Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Who else is resigning?

Got an offer letter today from a tech company and will have my notice prepped for the 4th. How many others are doing the same? I wonder how this terrible morale will translate into mass resignations next month? I know a LOT of people in tech are on the edge of quitting…

It's not false and it's people like you that make the decision that much easier. I won't miss the abject stupidity.

False? How do you figure that? I'm five years shy of retirement age and retiring anyhow. I have half a dozen friends who are doing likewise. Consensus is wait for bonus payout and give notice.

@1iep+1eOXYGIm, while workers have indeed been moving around, early retirees are indeed the ones driving the resignation figures. Numerous articles have been written on the subject.

I'm in the process of interviewing at two larger tech companies for roles that would be large increases in base pay, bonus incentives, signing bonus, and HUGE equity payments (like hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock).

The timing is perfect in that I'll probably be getting offers at the end of January or early February. Just in time to get the bonus and have some of my restricted shares vest. I started the process back in November, but with the holidays it's taken a bit longer than I would have liked and has actually worked out better for me.

I'm in cyber security and the market is hot. So many people in our area have already been leaving. It's going to be a mass exodus after February.

‘ The Great Resignation is largely boomers who are now getting back to where they can retire. A lot of those workers aren't going to new jobs. The unretirement rate has been dropping.’

False.

Already gave my notice, will go after the bonus payout. I'm in tech and will miss my team and LOB but not SVB.

If you are a Java/Cloud engineer, it's like 1999 tech bo-m in term of recruiting at the moment, which is AWESOME!!!

The "Great Resignation" is supposed to die out within a year according to the pointed headed prof who coined the phrase. Things are supposed to "tighten up" in terms of job availability and if that translates to Wells, then the fun ride will have an end before we know it. So if all true, then bail soon or settle in.

We've got 200k.employees. someone resigns literally every single day. People stay at jobs an average of just 2-3 years these days. No one outside your immediate team really cares. Congrats on the new gig.

Lock down the thread admins, nothing to see here.

uh, why resign?

I am double dipping and plan to do so for the foreseeable future. If wells isn't going to promote me or give me my bonus, I'll get it other means.
