My mgr wants to promote me from NE to E sometime this qrtr. I am actively looking for another WF. Does anybody know how long you’re committed to a new position without needing a managers signature to bounce? I can’t find it online anymore.

12 Months and a promotion or new role does reset the clock.. Unless Manager approves of it earlier (rare cases)
If you have to apply for this promotion then 12 months is the rule.
Promos do not reset the clock

Promoted in place does not reset clock. A friend was promised a promo for eons but gave up and started posting. They got the promo on a Tues and a new job offer the next week. Took the new job as it was a better team but the promo made it a lateral without any additional salary.
They didn't care though, their original LOB gave a 16% raise for the promo! Might have burned a bridge leaving right after but they waited through nearly a year of promo promises.

A promotion does not reset the 12 month clock. If you apply for a role posted on your team, it does. Last year I accepted a promotion, then 6 months later took a role on a different team.
You may want to ask yourself which direction you want to take your career, and which role is a better fit for that path. It’s also worth considering whether or not your current role is expanding your skill set still. If not, it might be time to move on.

A promotion does not reset the clock unless you apply for the promotion (e.g. applying for an open manager role)

I guess that is non exempt vs exempt. That may also mean you're bonus eligible. Normally you're supposed to wait a year, but it's a promotion not necessarily taking a new job. I'd say take the promotion if that's what this is considered and keep looking.

Sometimes managers have to open a new req for a promotion (and then basically promise someone they will get it). With the new job families, I’m not certain if that is ever going to be the case again, but it has in the past. Also ensures they lock you in for a year afterwards.
If you are promoted you do not need to wait a year, you can look right away if you want. It’s only if you seek another role that you need to wait.
I don’t believe the 1 year rule applies if you were promoted (and didn’t have to apply and interview for the promotion). I think it is only applicable if you actually went through the hiring process.

You have to say in your current role for a year before you can apply for another role unless you get your manager's approval from what I was told.
Not sure what any of those acronyms mean, but typically it's 1 year between LOBs. Some, but not all, LOBs will use a 6 month rule of it's a new job within the same LOB.
