Get Vaccinated or Get Fired

What are the chances that this will be the new policy in a few days?

It's so funny on this board when all the antivaxers start talking about some de facto union collective bargaining activity, as if they aren't rabidly against them in any other context.

A union coming together to make a workplace less safe, Karl is spinning in his grave lol

Hopefully automation shortens their careers. Almost there! Then we won't have to worry about brigades or strikes.

Courts said the Government can't mandate it. Private business sure can. Comprehension helps.

The supreme court said nope. This issue is closed.

I think they will try to implement this so be prepared. Who knows how many people will need to be terminated then...my guess, enough to sink the company. Good thing they have all those people in the Philippines on stand by.

Not sure what truck drivers have to do with WF requiring vaccines, but okay.

Hey @cut+1eLwvqQr,
You said:
"So, get vaccinated.
Problem solved."

Wanna say that to the trucker drivers? The same ones who are the reason you have food on your table?

"Supreme Court has blocked the vaccine mandate."

Means only the federal government cannot make businesses mandate it. Businesses are private companies and can implement whatever policies they want.

Keep spreading that lie but no one will believe it. Nowhere EVER did anyone say the vaccine prevents you from getting COVID. But it does in a great majority of cases prevent you from dying or ending up on a ventilator. I think I would rather avoid those things myself.

We’ll talk again when you just want to breathe. Because it’s going to happen because you won’t wear a mask either.

Why do all these discussions about the shot always end up with each side talking in absolutes?

The Covid shot doesn’t protect everyone from getting it, it does lower the likelihood that they get it, lower the severity of symptoms, and thus lowers the likelihood of transmission because of the above, and a lower viral load.

All of those reasons make it safer, and less likely to have WF turn into a super spreader scenario in the offices.

But it is not an absolute protection, just like getting the flu shot doesn’t mean you won’t get the flu.

Stop pretending getting the shot makes you and everyone around you immune. Also, stop pretending that not having the shot doesn’t put others and yourself at higher risk in an office setting.

Are there great reasons to get the shot or not get the shot? Yup. Is Wells Fargo likely to innovate and handle those reasons and the process nuances to account for those well? No.

Wrong. Many jobs from teaching to travel to flight attendants to government officials have vaccination requirements and have for years - especially when traveling to other countries. It’s not a new thing. Conditions for employment exist and will continue to exist.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the commerical for Viagra says it won't work unless a guy from Schenectady also takes it. Then you get your Woodrow, and not before. It's amazing how gullible people are. You can sell them literally anything. Just have a pol say it and put it on the news and people will unwaveringly cling to it like it was a religion.

The protected need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to use the protection that didn’t protect the protected.

For Pete's sake, what part of 'it doesn't prevent transmission' do you not understand? It does not matter, AT ALL, if you have been vaccinated, you can/do still spread C19. I know that the president, various bureaucratic hacks and big pharma sales people lied to you, but it's time to put on the big boy pants, come to the realization that you were 'had' with a series of lies, and move on. YOUR comparison is the one that holds no water. This is not to say that unvaccinated people can't spread COVID, I'm saying everyone spreads it. Everyone, including you. Anyone saying that the dr-gs you took prevent that was lying to you in order to get a needle in your arm to boost pharma sales. That's all it was. I'm sorry you were deceived.

Not going to happen without the Supreme Court upholding it. With such a high percentage unvaxxed combined with an already challenging hiring environment, leadership already knows a forced mandate is a no-go…

@xbs being pregnant isn't going to potentially put the entire floor, anyone who rides in the elevator/uses the same restroom/eats in the same breakroom, at risk of a deadly pathogen if the pregnant person shows up to work every day.

But go ahead and pretend its a valid comparison. One person being out, in a planned and scheduled vacancy, versus potential hundreds in unplanned and emergency vacancies.

They could, but that hasn't happened, and to their credit it makes zero sense now that everyone not living under a rock knows that everyone transmits. You could take 1000 boosters, and you'd still transmit to others. The ship on the lie about it being otherwise sailed long ago.

@ruk+1eLwvqQr The SCOTUS case on this has zero to do with a company mandating it as part of your employment requirements. OSHA doesn't even have to be involved. Wells, can just say you have to be vaccinated to work in the office, and you need to periodically work in the office.

You don't have to wonder if/when Wells Fargo will implement any particular measure regarding covid. If you're really curious, just keep searching the internet for "JP Morgan Chase" to get a heads up for whatever we'll do. If the implement any changes, we'll likely make the same move in 1-2 months.

It may be unconstitutional for the government to force vaccinations, but it is absolutely within the incontrovertible rights of a business to make it a condition of employment.

And if it's deemed unconstitutional, what happens when something literally deadly comes along? Federal government would be powerless. States' rights? I guess, though imagine if the country's financial system were in a red state.

People scream about government overreach, but isn't there something to be said about economic security?

The supreme court is reviewing as we speak. From what I read they feel the executive branch didn’t have the power, the States have the power. They also raised why OSHA wasn’t the one deciding.

when will people realize that government mandate or not, wells fargo as a public company can make vaccines a requirement for employment. while a gov mandate provides some cover end of day they can do this.

I would think that it’s logical that WFC implements this policy in the next few weeks. WFC will follow Citi and Chase lead. Win win for Charlie in not having to pay severance or bonuses.

Life policies cut off too.
That's what alot of companies are doing at this point.
