Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Saul just called Covid-19 Omicron "Today's Flu" in his AMA

I should be, but I'm not surprised that WF leadership is minimizing the impact of Covid-19 omicron. It is not "today's flu".......

Even the American NHS and the Chinese government are not sure where covid came from. It was probably from soup but that sounds stupid.

It's more akin to the 1918 flu -- for certain individuals. For others, it's more akin to the common cold. And the rest? They're completely unaffected.

I think that's been the most challenging part of the pandemic: Some (even otherwise very healthy people) have severe symptoms and even die, others have a milder reaction, and the remaining either never get infected or have no symptoms at all. It's hard to justify, for many, extreme measures when only a slice of the populate is really affected, but you understand the precautions when it hits close to home.

Newsflash, multiple people have come out and said we'll need to start treating this as an annual flu event.

"850k US COVID deaths is a lie."

Rand Paul himself a few days ago placed the responsibility for those deaths solely on Anthony Fauci, so is Rand Paul misinformed, as well?

We are seeing these numbers while a majority of office workers are still working from home. It was mentioned earlier in this thread but I’ll reiterate, RTO will never happen.

Goes along with what doctor Bill Gates is saying too.
This has caused mass panic among the Pharma companies and their multi billion dollar profits from selling the vaccine and boosters. As said below, expect another pivot to keep the masses scared.

Well, they certainly died of something. And don't forget that there were states that have reported more deaths than births. Alabama being one, so surely that resnatate didn't fudge its numbers.

Didn't hear Saul's stuff, but let's be realistic.

Vast majority of people are tired of the pandemic.

More and more various orgs/governments are running out of f**ks to give.

If omicron is way milder and less deadly, they'll care even less.

A huge percent of the population is going to get omicron. Somethign came out the other day that they're estimating 50% of Europe will get it (IIRC). In my state the health care professionals have written to the governor to do something b/c they're exhausted with no end in sight and omicron is spiking hard.

RTO will keep getting pushed back as long as, at least in tech, we can get things done. Last thing the company needs is a large percentage of the staff out sick and operations being drastically affected.

@szc+1eLvv3zl What kind of stupid sh*t is that?

Cause of death is stated on the death certificate. They don't report that you died from COVID if you get hit by a bus but test positive.

@fjo+1eLvv3zl

And let's not forget, they are only NOW beginning to report how many of the 850,000 died FROM Covid as opposed to those who died WITH Covid.

50 million people worldwide died of the Spanish flu, 675,000 in the US. The official numbers for worldwide covid is much lower than 50 million, but many countries dont give accurate data. US Covid stands at around 850,000 now, so worldwide Covid is likely tens of millions more than the official numbers. Its not that different from the flu, though the earths population was about a third of what it is now.

It's actually very similar to the flu and we're going through what folks did years ago when flu broke out. Eventually, we'll just need to live with it and move on.
