Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Bonus

If one’s discretionary bonus payment is within a 2 week notice period for a voluntary resignation, will the employee still receive the bonus payment?

If you read the incentive comp stuff on HR site, they give you the exact date. Caps are mine below, otherwise this is the direct quote:
“Employees on the Wells Fargo Bonus Plan who terminate for reasons other than retirement, displacement, corporate transaction, or death PRIOR to the date awards payments are processed (Wednesday, February 2 in the U.S.) are ineligible for any potential incentive awards.”

So there you have it. See you on the 3rd!

Yes, if you’re employed as of payout you get your bonus

Not prior to the paycheck cutoff date. Paystubs are available the Wednesday before direct deposit. I would say if you give notice on that Monday you are save. Anything before the pay cycle then who knows. Technically you should be able to have your last day be on feb 6th and get it.

You get nothing until it's actually in your account

Don't EVER give notice until that bonus money is direct deposited into your bank account and you've transfered it to an account WF has no association with.

So it’s like this…Until that bonus hits your account it is not yours. They can pull n number of tricks to stop it going in right up to the last minute

NEVER EVER quit until you see your bonus in your bank account.

Don’t be the su---r who learns the hard way

I'd ask HR or wait. Or have somebody ask HR for you.

Anyone from HR on this site? Can you respond?

I believe bonuses will be deposited into our 401k account with WF Stock. I would think that this will increase the price if the stock to at least $60 by Feb 5th.

Just to be totally safe, I would wait until the bonus hits your account before giving notice.

I wouldn't count on it. This topic has come up a few times it seems.

Hedge your bets. If you're leaving, negotiate with your new employer to start after you get your bonus or have them make you whole with a signing bonus.

If a new employer won't wait until you get your bonus, do you really want to work for them?
