Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

For WF Employees using specialty pharmacy through WF insurance

I read but never post here but feel that those who are using specialty pharmacy through their WF plan need to hear my experience. Mine is covered by ACCREDO through WF insurance. My refill was mysteriously stopped and my doctor’s office was called by ACCREDO for insurance information. But that is not what they want to know. I had to called ACCREDO to be transferred to SAVON which is a contracted third party to let you know about WF now not applying cost of specialty retail price to your deductible. Then you have to give them the info off you subsidy card. They did not bother to reach out, rather just cancel a refill. I will miss a dose assuming they process this right. And I spent over 2 hours on the phone. Not layoff topic, you need to know this if it applies to you or your family. Oh and SAVON wants your email address as they are setting up a portal and want to send out quarterly info. Not making this up.

Update from original poster—the company is Saveonsp out of Buffalo NY. They do not have a website and are subcontractor of Express Scripts. I just called the number back and asked them. But they are saying that WF hired them to do this. I feel sorry for their employees. They have been nice to me. They did lie to me last night about when my prescription arrived but were polite when lying. Accredo-Express Scripts will not get on the call with them and let them give you a shipment date which is wrong.

And people fight Medicare for all when they don't realize the control our employers have over what they allow us to take and what they cover. Every year they play with the approved dr-g list and some people switch dr-gs annually.

Last year i received a letter from express scripts in the mail on a Saturday stating the dr-g i needed to live was getting replaced on the 31st, it was like the 26th. I was in shock. The dr-g they replaced it with i've used in the past and is horrific stuff, i told others but they just didn't understand the difference it made, they thought i was making it up. Since then i've been to the ER five times due to complications. It ruined my life this last year. One of the reasons i need to find new employment, to have decent medical insurance.

@1jmx+1eLE09z2, No, what you’re talking about sounds like just run-of-the-mill standard mail order alternative to filling your Rx in person at CVS or Walgreens. Express Scripts and Caremark are a couple of the biggies. Specialty pharmacies are a niche category and serve patients who need more complex medications for chronic or more serious conditions, often injectables or infused dr-gs. Source: Worked at a pharmaceutical company for a few years but I’m also no expert so don’t quote me. :-D

Walgreens called me recently trying to get me to sign up for some pharmacy delivery service that my insurance covers. Is this related?
It was very random. I also didn’t have the time so half listened and said I’d look into it later.

They read out some kind of HIPPA disclosure to you. You have to agree. You also have to turn off any auto pay for other prescriptions in case the retail cost gets accidentally charged. And you have to agree to let this SAVON company view your ACCREDO pharmacy balances. Not kidding. They read through all this. I was stunned. But they happily tell you that your specialty balance will be 0 (assuming no screwups) because of this change in benefits that is advantageous to you and SAVON is the company to assist you with understanding the benefit but then they have to transfer you to ACCREDO to process. The customer service person I talked to was very nice and kept apologizing. I told her that I did not envy her work at all. She answers the Wells Fargo queue.

Sorry to hear. Sounds invasive, loss of privacy. Have not heard of this process. Wonder if HIPPA compliant. Thanks for sharing.
