Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Begging to stay

In the recent IT townhall for consumer lending, CIO- Rider begged people not to quit after bonuses are paid. I think there is scarcity of IT resources in the market.

Former WF IT, left months ago, stop by to see how it's going with you folks.

We can't hire fast enough at the new job, people are not showing up for their first day because they get better offers, and people that have been here for years are leaving in large numbers for more money.

It's similar to being in tech during the dot com bo-m, they're throwing money at people.

If you're not happy at WF, and I don't know why you would be, it's a good time to find another job, at least if you're IT.

Thing is, pay, title changes, layoffs or whatever, there could be a huge loss in institutional knowledge if/when a bunch of people bail. There were several Sr. manager types that bailed before the end of the year including on direct to Saul (that's not a corporate knowledge loss though IMO).

I'm looking around as a hedge b/c my group just got moved around and partially broken up.

I think it's going to be a mass exodus. People aren't even hiding it anymore. Used to be that people just kept quiet about stuff like this. Now, they don't care who knows.

People need to leave before they will pay more for resources. IT and Risk are already ramping up WFIP resources -- it's all over India and Philippines media, plus regional targeting of recruitment videos. Take your money and run to a company that won't be sued by shareholders for failing on several consent orders.

It has nothing to do with a scarcity of resources. They want to control who leaves and when.

lol, they are literally banking on people leaving so they don't have to payout severance packages. no one is concerned about human resource scarcity, they see you as a replaceable cog.
