Yes. That appears to be the plan. VCAM will likely have a revised and expanded role compared to the current VCAM job description. Currently the VCAM’s that are out there are required to be in their home store 3 days per week and in their 3-4 satellite stores the other two days per week.
What appears to be quite plausible, is that 1-2 VCM’s per market get promoted to VCAM. Any remaining licensed VCM’s in the market end up being demoted to just an LDO (for licensed states.) VCM’s who are not licensed will either be demoted to VC Associate, offered a div 1 role, or terminated, based on specific store and market needs.
The new VCAM role will primarily be responsible for managing the regulatory compliance aspects of the stores in their market, P&L integrity, perhaps scheduling, and doctor relations.
This is all just a theory….but it is a theory derived from the experience of having my job eliminated at multiple other companies over the years, either due to downsizing or bankruptcy and being able to see the true end game meaning behind moves and actions, well before that end game ever happens.
