Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Approved Exemptions?

Has anyone had any success with getting their Religious exemption approved? Several articles out there indicate companies are claiming 'undue hardship'.

@7aae+1dvF2DjS What an ignorant comment. All corporations are going to push the same "requirement"

Call it what it is, its an effort to push conservatives from their jobs and any influence they might have (think political contributions, political sway).

Nahh... it's better this way.
I have all the documentation without being a beta tester.
I keep my job without the jab.
People around me think I'm compliant.
I get to laugh at them.
Everybody's happy.

If you don't want the vacine quit its that easy. You have your choice noone is forcing you. Shut up about it already. You work for someone who requires it. If you dont want it find somone who doesnt require it and stop whinning.

This is just a reminder for everybody to CYA.
Make sure the pro choice doctor you're using is doing it right.
There's no need to get caught. It may cost more, but the security is worth it.

Employers are firing more people over fake vaccine cards.

I am just amazed that the sheeple are blindly following an unconstitutional mandate from a senile president who literally pooped in his pants while visiting the vatican.

The link that someone posted below should be considered as 'past being prologue' with regard to all of the damage that the 'Swine Flu Shot' that the government pushed then.

This is no different, with the exception that the CDC helped fund and create this bug, that is less dangerous to most of the population than the flu.

There will be many lawsuits and jury trials for people in corporate America when the dust settles.

I feel bad for those who foolishly took the jab and infected themselves with items that will clog their arteries and reduce their immune system's ability to fight off old viruses and bacteria. They have unnecessarily shortened their lives.

So apparently the polio vaccine was rigorously tested after all and they were trying for years to work on a vaccine before it was widely distributed. That’s why you keep down voting the post that shows this with a valid source. Too bad you can’t delete your own post, eh? @4vad

When this nonsense is finally over there will most certainly be some manner of 'truth commissions' or Nuremberg type trials when this is over. All of the Vax pushers will need to explain themselves, but mostly they will have to reconcile with themselves about why they are dying much younger than they should, or why most will no longer be able to have children. Was it worth it?

@4vad You really shouldn’t be telling people to research the history of the polio vaccine when you have not done it yourself, let alone calling people ignorant. Talk about egg on your face.

They started working (unsuccessfully) on a polio vaccine in the 1930s. Wasn’t until Dr. Salk had a breakthrough in the 1950s that it became successful. Didn’t Chris Cuomo tell you that? Not even sure what this has to do with Trump either, especially since he was the one that called for Operation Warp Speed for this current vaccine.

@2zjj, not at all a “silly comparison”. You know not of what you speak, like most anti-vaxxers.
As for the “vigorously tested”, how do you think that occurred? Try researching the Polio Vaccine Field Trials of ‘54 before shooting your mouth off and exposing your ignorance.
You do know a new version of the flu vaccine is rolled out each year without Trumpers going insane?

Attorney here, you absolutely can and will be terminated for not following the policy. Verizon is under a federal contract and is required as a condition of that contract to ensure its employees follow the guidance issued, which includes no option for weekly testing, you can, and you will be terminated for failure to comply. The law is not on your side. The unions are not even on your side on this. The only religions that are substantively against vaccinations are also against working on the sabbath, and against using technology in your daily life (meaning your religious views would preempt you from working for a technology company or on Sunday in the first place. Religious exemptions are just something that have to be offered as an option to comply with the law as it is written. You will not be approved on a religious basis, as it would place an undo burden on the company. As for the medical exemption, there are very very very very VERY few medical professionals out there that have agreed to risk their licenses to excuse those who are not actually medically impacted. Those particular instances (and they absolutely do exist) that do preempt a person from receiving this vaccine actually are chronic and usually keep people out of work for months at a time, meaning you would already have an approved leave. Verizon has physicians and an abhorrent amount of lawyers that work to ensure that they are operating exactly to the letter of the law. You will not get Dr Jim Bob who knows your cousin to write you a note because he is a Trumper. It’s not gonna fly. To be clear with everyone… you also aren’t going to find a position earning the same as you do, certainly not better, that also does not require new hires to provide proof of vaccination

@2yyb+1dvF2DjS

I'm in a right to work state. They can easily fire anyone who doesn't get the vaccine. And in the covid FAQ they already state that unpaid leave is a possible solution for someone who applies for religious exemption.

I'm wondering if you can recant your religious exemption if they tell you that you are not going to be paid anymore. Or if thats a freebie to VZ (no RIF package)

Those looking for a religious exemption- do your homework and check out the protections of Title 7. You simply have to state you have a religious belief to not get the Covid 19 vax- just make sure the wording is specific to what the law allows in Title 7. (doesn't matter if you got vax'd when you were an infant, a young kid, a young adult, or received the flu shot last year). I urge everyone to do their homework before filing for the religious exemption. If they don't accept your RE, you can appeal. As long as your wording is covered under Title 7 and the company does something against your protected rights - then you have grounds for legal action- from what I understand, and I'm not a lawyer.

I cannot believe we have people giving up their freedoms and fighting to have more government control for some perceived safety.

School vax have been around for 60+ years & they were vigorously tested for years before being approved & widely available & distributed to the general population.

Silly comparison.

I know people who died of Covid.
I don’t know anyone who died or suffered long term problems from getting the Covid shot.
Each year a new flu shot is developed but no one had an issue in the past.
Schools always required certain vaccines to attend. Summer camps too. Few had issues with that.
Science has been politicized and is viewed as the enemy by some.

The announcement of approved or not approved for the exemptions will come out after November 15th through November 24th. This is so it gives time for people that have not been approved to change their mind and get vaccinated before the cut off of Dec. 8th.

HR Question: Does VZ have plans to be transparent on how attempting to comply with mandate has specifically impacted Q4 and full year earnings?

Answer: Access is limited to only those who need to know this information. We use this information to administer our policies and comply with vaccination requirements.
