Laid off 10/20. Access removed and zz-ed (visible on Skype) within an hour. Know of at least 6 others who were displaced same day in our area - digital technology. So yes, it's real.

Nearly everyone is immediate these days. They know the damages that can happen when its not immediate.

Some people with priviliged access may get shown the door right away, but don't most people get the one month on one off deal?

So most people won't show up as zz for a month or two.

All of you fake news people must be sucking on something good. My team was laid off while on PTO. I was about to accept a new job so I get to double dip. It’s amazing one team let go while another team doing the exact same is hiring. The new stagecoach at WF. Sorry to everyone who got dumped

Can confirm ICS losses... You can see the zzzz in the GAL but changes not yet on Teamworks. Some of us were also re-orged to other ICS teams.

ICS cuts happened in Info Sec. I know several of these folks and they were excellent. We were told it was for efficiencies. The people are not listed as zz yet. The deadwood cuts happened months ago in Info Sec. The restructuring cuts a couple months before that. We're just starting to get offshored, that will produce more cuts.

Underneath it all, the root cause of the WF (or WTF) IT organization's widespread panic is basically due to moving U.S. positions to India. They are milking to the last drop all stateside positions to train EGS staff -- and after they suck the life out of you, if you don't fall into one of the coveted diversity groups you are kicked out on the street.

If anyone can't figure out how to check just use your chat tool. Search for the letters they add to terminated accounts and complete or part job titles. Then look at how long the person has been offline. If you see the letters next to their name and they went offline that same day, they were likely laid off. Especially when you see a bunch of people with the same job title.

If you don't know job titles for an area, go look for an executive name in that area of the business in that employee search tool. Poke around and find some common job titles in that business area and use that in your search.

Don't do the search in the morning of rumored layoff days. Wait until right before the end of your work hours. It seems like it takes a bit time for whoever changes the accounts to get it done.

I do this from time to time when I see posts of some department getting hit to gauge the BS level of the claims.

You don't have to be one of the IT geeks to figure this out.

If you work in ICS, you're probably aware of 3 or 4 tools that would easily reveal recent attrition within our org. Comparing today's attrition to the daily attrition over the past 3 weeks shows it's right around what you would see on any given day. No significant blips.

The fake news, hoax and down votes are the poor ba----ds left hoping they haven't moved up a spot or two on the next round's list.

I'm with the OP - best to those impacted. I had two colleagues let go today. One not really a surprise, the other was completely a shock.

ICS did get hit today. Surprisingly in some teams I thought they were.

It really only takes a couple brain cells to figure out how to get at least some names of those laid off.

Amazing that the people IN ICS are getting downvoted for the “fake news” we saw with our own eyes. Utterly mind-blowing what a trash fire this place has become. Those “nice to have positions that aren’t required” are engineering roles that are understaffed and they have no intention of backfilling. But sure, I guess you know best, business as usual, nothing to see here.

I am with the OP who posted the news on good faith. I do think a bit more of a hint would help corroborate. No question, this is news and not someone’s views.

@vvv+1dpGg5pS Which program bud?

1/5. That's a wide-scale layoff. Been through one of those in 2008 in another industry. 1/15? Not even a blip. That's a streamline. It usually amounts to cutting nice-to-have positions which aren't actually required.

@rpk absolutely did not happen anywhere in ICS

I don’t know what you call a “wide scale layoff”. I call about 1/15 reduction in an already overburdened team more than “just a reorg”.

I can confirm a handful of people laid off in my area in ICS dedicated to a specific program. Actually surprising in our area considering how much time and effort was spent in getting this program off the ground, only to cancel it a few years later.

I am sorry for all these folks. Is this somewhere in SVB's org?

by

Post ID: @jzl+1dpGg5pS

This is 100% false info. There was a reorg in one of the sub ICS groups, but no wide-scale layoffs.

Yeah today was a displacement day. About 500 or so more people gone. WF leadership is a joke and is completely clueless. More cuts every month from now until the end of 2022. They are laying off employees and bringing in contractors to fill the "new" positions.
