How is Wells Fargo about laying people off during holidays? Are we safe next week or not?

I was laid off the week before Christmas at another company several years ago because they sent everything to India. So these companies don’t care when they get rid of you.
@gie+1dUVQYh3 nails it 100% correct regarding the metrics.
In addition to the parameters previously listed, there are now DE&I metrics that are being taken into account.
If you're "borderline", the DE&I metrics are what tip the scales regarding getting a layoff or not.
Highly unlikely. HR is limiting work to prep for the new Workday. Managers are wrapping up year end performance. I'd say no to little layoffs until 2022. Stop stressing out.
My guess would be we did our last Thursday of the month layoff early this month and nobody will be laid off on Thanksgiving day.
Just a guess though.
Total chaos, messed up and scrud up the System. Praying God to save this Bank.
Tech will be hit Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve. SVB is fired up after winning the award, he's bullet proof now.
Was laid off Thursday time of year does not matter to sc-m running company
Yes, but they throw in a turkey 🦃 as an extra severance bonus. Frozen Butterball, but still, not bad.
@gie+1dUVQYh3 I am in your prior Wells situation, but I am hourly and I do not know of any Wells position they could give me that I could walk into and do a satisfactory job, instead of them letting me go. From what you're saying I should be looking outside of Wells. The follow-up problem would then be to find a company willing to pay me the over- the-average pay I now receive in my position. Looking for similar outside of Wells jobs will be an issue at my age. Hope is not a good strategy either, as the saying goes. Thanks for your thoughts.
I speak from experience, I was laid off immediately after the Thanksgiving Holiday. They need to give you a 30 day notice (Month of December) prior to severance in order to get you off their books in the coming year. I was a full time employee until the end of December. I was in a limbo status during my 16 months of severance. This happened 3 years ago. Many of my coworkers were shocked that WFC would do this during the holiday’s. But they do it. I was 62 at the time after 35 years of service. When the metrics for your specific job get outside their parameters, I.e., salary, age, etc. you are toast no matter what. The perplexing thing about it is if you are in your job for a long time, your raises, even if they are only 1-3% a year, will ultimately price you out of your job by exceed the mid-point pay. If you are at or above your mid-point compensation level for your specific job, you have a target on your back, doubly so if you are over 55 years old. And this is regardless of job performance. It’s all about the METRICS. That is why you must keep moving into different positions…
I'll be off all week but I'd happily dial in to get laid off if they're offering.
It don’t matter if there is a holiday or not.
Help a newbie out.
