Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

getting investigated.???

I was asked to contact an investigator because a customer said I forced them to do something with their accounts. I did no such thing, I have my work to prove that, but, I get the feeling that Wells Fargo may doesn’t care about my voice and only want to show the Fed that they “care” and address issues immediately. What should I do? I’m done with Wells Fargo, I know I should look for another career.

They're looking for an out.....going to blame you the employee again just as they did for the MRA's for actions that were directed by the executive teams.

Managers at WFB are like Pedophiles locked in a room with kids....nothing good ever comes from it.

This is Wells Fargo's Vision and Values at its best. You need to remember People are the Competitive advantage

I used to work in Conduct Management and WF shows they care by conducting these investigations. If an allegation is made, then we need to investigate it, no matter how ridiculous it is on its face. (Some allegations were true and legit.) If you didn’t force and the customer signed, there will likely be no evidence to support the allegation, even if it can’t be disproved.

I remember a time when troll posts used to be semi-intelligent at least

Obviously people replying have never been through this at the branch level. I’m a branch manager and was a banker for 5 years so I’ve been through quite a few of these. Don’t worry, tell what you actually did very factually and nothing else and everything will be fine as long as you didn’t force anything. I’ve had people claim I opened a credit card without their knowledge because they didn’t want to pay it after they maxed it out, people saying that they didn’t know they opened a checking account when there signature was on the application and they were using the debit card, people saying I forced them to do something that they had to acknowledge and sign for. I said to the investigator, “I never did that, I explained it clearly the customer confirmed they understood and signed confirming their understanding, what would I possibly have to gain from doing that?” As long as you are in the right and you know you are in the right you will be fine, these are a formality. I don’t know how long you’ve been with the bank but in the area I live in, a lower income income with a lot of 1st and 3rd traffic it’s common for a banker to have one a year. Don’t stress it, cross your t’s and dot your i’s and banker notes are your best friend.

I had something similar when I coached a little league team.
Like you, OP, it seemed like a set-up.
Can't say much more. Good luck.

I must have gone through 4 of those d-mb investigator calls in my 5 years at WFC. Unless you didn’t do anything wrong, they just do them as a formality since a 3rd party was hired years ago after the fraud scandal to come in and overhaul things.

Honesty though, just get out of retail banking in general. It’s a dying profession and the customers like this are one of the reasons amongst many I threw in the towel.

Read the Angry Retail Bankers blog. Sums it up to a tee

I wouldn't worry about it as long as it wasn't an allegation of stealing or anything fraud related. Customers are always making frivolous allegations like they were discriminated against by some Teller who asked for 2 forms of ID when they wanted to withdraw $5K cash, or their fraud claim was denied, or they weren't approve for a car loan when they already have 2 open car loans, or didn't smile at them as much as they did the previous customer. It doesn't help either when every employee is filing customer complaints like their bonus or their job security is based on how many they submit/file.

Asked by whom? Be careful, make sure this is legit before you say anything to anybody.

Do not waste your time with the investigator. Spend time looking for a new job else where. Get prepared.
