Someone from originations said they just got laid off (Columbus). They said 3,500 will be laid off over various Columbus sites.

I’m not sure. I’m in Phoenix. It’s just a rumor right now I think. I know I’ve been reading about people not being busy but I’m always busy. I’m a CDA so I’m not sure. I will definitely post if I find something out.

About 300 were moved to credit card services but they don’t know when or what part of credit. That was announced Tuesday I think. I heard layoffs were coming on Wednesday. But just chatter

June 2022 will have another 1800 layoffs in the mortgage department.

Likely mid June/early July for another wave at OPS. Inventory is down next to nothing, and the writing is on the wall.

Any chatter about layoffs in mortgage originations? We have been playing games in the office the last several weeks and really don’t have any work. I’ve got a couple interviews lined up myself, but just wondering how long they are going to keep us around doing nothing but playing games/ trivia?

Survived another week of no layoffs in mortgage originations.

Chase auto laid off Tues May 10 2022. 79 underwriters nationwide. All market credit managers in our meeting were let go. The script was read that it is a company wide “event” and they used the rationale that certain territories were slow volume despite the fact that each underwriter wasn’t buying specific territories. They were buying across a multi state territory that five market credit managers supervised in a first in first out format. So once again a line of BS fed to the masses

I agree, Chase is not going to keep paying employees to take zoom classes for the next few months. I even thought maybe they are giving employees more time to find jobs and be mentally prepared, but Chase doesn’t t give two sh*ts about its employees. The only argument supporting when they might do layoffs to the mortgage dept. is the lease for the Shoc building expires in July. Maybe they will line up layoffs with the transfers to other centers. We’ll see.

Chase Auto laid off today. Not sure how many yet news is still fresh. Underwriters, credit managers and verifiers.

I've got 4 files in my pipe, 9 months ago I had 110. No way they are going to keep paying us to take zoom classes for the next few months.

Not sure why they were still hiring into the spring. Oh well, I just hope we get a decent package.

157 Underwriters laid off yesterday across all sites.

I worked for Chase as a mortgage underwriter. I was laid off Thursday 3/24. My position was remote, but I'm based in Illinois. Not sure how many were laid off altogether, but it looks like more cuts are on the way

Layoff this AM at chase operations center in indianapolis. Lots of working at home so banks are making changes, get your resume ready!

I'm a contractor and was told my contract ends in 2 weeks and won't be extended. The layoffs are coming.
