OCC Branch Closings

I assume they would need to file before a closure is announced... With that being said, I work at a really busy in-store branch on the West Coast - I'm hearing chatter about our branch manager position not being replaced, and they're leaving in December - but a closure seems unlikely too based off of our growth, traffic and location.

Any other in-store locations operating without a branch manager?

You won't see it in OCC filings until 90 days out. Exactly 90 days. It is communicated to branch employees prior to that. No Branch Manager replacement, I'm sorry, is a sign. At least it was for us in VA.

I've been in a brick and mortar and have helped out at an in-store branch. I felt inadequate when I tried to "help" there.

I share the same sentiment as you all, those guys know how to do everything. They could run that branch, I'm sure.

I would estimate that within 2-3 years max, we will see 50% of our stores or branches disappear. Digital services are the money maker now.

How crazy that we have the same employer but I have no clue/can't relate to your problems/issue.
Ultimately, we're all just cogs in the wheel.

Wishing the best for you!

Foreal though. Brick and mortar bankers be like - i opened 2 checking accounts today, with online banking and a credit card ...

In Store Bankers be like::: Oh that's cool . I opened up an IOLTA trust, 2 business accounts, talked to an 18 year old about establishing credit and got approved for their first credit card, had a referral to merchant services - a referral to a financial advisor, closed on a $50,000 loan, had 5 notaries - and my nps shows i talked digital hahaha

"oh are you premier? pb2?"

nah just a personal banker

and my branch manager is on vacation, and my service manager is out sick...

we also are going to random the vault today, and i have to report elder abuse.

  1. EFFING.HEAR.YOU.

in store bankers are crazy good at their jobs. it's like they're effing spartans

I'd rather work at an in store than a brick and mortar. There typically isn't much segmentation at in store branches and the bankers seem to be jack of all trades. Worst case scenario you'll get absorbed into a neighboring branch. I think in store locations are cheaper to maintain, so who knows. Maybe your service manager will take on the bulk of the work, assuming you have one. In my experiences though? Those in store bankers are 👌👌👌
