Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

This is how we solved the 'all must vaccinate' problem

I work for a competitor and here is how we solved our vaccination issue. Now, before you tear this post apart, let me give a disclaimer as I truly do not have a horse in this race. I am perfectly fine working next to people who have not been vaccinated while I strongly encourage everyone to vaccinate for a number of things that I interpret as scientific reasons and medical recommendations.

Anyhow, based on guidance we got from the consulting group helping us manage the vaccination program, going into this we knew that we should expect between the vaccination rate to be around 96% to 98% given our employee profile, level of education, geography, etc. I turned out to be a bit under 3%. We noticed that lower paid cohorts had lower rate of vaccination so our first program included providing shots on Fridays and offering $400 to each individual who got vaccinated on that Friday. This barely moved the needle as only couple dozen people would come and get vaccinated.

At some point we realized that we are spending about $10K every Friday and we turned things around a bit. We stopped offering the $400 payment, instead we offered a $20K to one lucky person who got vaccinated on that Friday. As you can imagine, two dozens turned into hundreds and we will hit our desired 99.8% rate in two weeks.

This still leaves us with that 0.2% to deal with, we have some options there but I think that the executive group is willing to deal with the fallout if they are all let go. This number will still be over 100, so it’s really sad to see those folks go but at some point you need to resolve this, find a compromise (or break things) and move on.

"I have one question...were all of you that are so pro-vaccine mandate this afraid of people who got the flu before this version C-19?"

Hospitals weren't loading the bodies of people who died from the flu into refrigerated trucks.

I have one question...were all of you that are so pro-vaccine mandate this afraid of people who got the flu before this version C-19? Because your distain for fellow team members and fear is certainly showing now. Do some research people, man made virus that the big Pharma is raking in the dough with the investors pushing like dr-g dealers. Shameful...I for one do not care if you take the snake bite or not...your body your choice.

@1vez+1dB27qg7 okay, we believe you.

And you have a super hot girlfriend, but we wouldn't know her, because she lives in Canada.

I swear these fake posts are everywhere and they all sound exactly the same.

Russian troll farm or just American losers with time on their hands?

My nephew is having life threatening heart issues due to the vaccine and he's not the only one. I'm vaccinated but people need to mind their own business when it comes to other people's decisions. We don't know their health issues

"Why not just let people remain unvaccinated, but require a test, at their expense, every 2-3 days?"

Because if they test postive it means they've been walking around spreading COVID to others for days, maybe longer.

In fact, testing even vaccinated people isn't a bad idea, because while the vaccine helps you fight covid, you can still get covid.

I'll be told that's not cost effective, though, for some reason we're willing to accept "minimal losses", meaning people dying from a mostly preventable cause.

Anyway, seek knowledge before you post something "reasonable".

OP said "I am perfectly fine working next to people who have not been vaccinated while I strongly encourage everyone to vaccinate for a number of things that I interpret as scientific reasons and medical recommendations."

This is how you can tell he's full of it.

Responsible people who graduated high school are not fine sitting next to some unvaxxed goofball.

If this was smallpox would you be okay? Seriously?

Hey, anyone have any updates on layoffs? No, just conspiracy theories and anti-science screeds?

Ok.

The guy under me gets it. And also the unvaxxed should be barred from public transit, public schools, and public benefits of any kind.

No. You give them a job if they have a shot, and no job if they don't. This is how it should be.

Why not just let people remain unvaccinated, but require a test, at their expense, every 2-3 days?

If they test positive let them use their PTO/sick time/short and long term disability just as you would for any absence due to illness.

That seems fair to me.

" On one hand, I’m for whatever it takes to increase vaccination percentages"

what an enlightened regurgitation. the outcomes care about are not healthy, longevity, quality of life, etc. its # of vaccines given. why?

State mandated vaccines tor schoolchildren are very much overstated. My children have never had a single vaccine and are in public school.

A genius like you, who is smarter than most scientists and doctors, should have no problem finding another job. I would imagine employers are begging for your many talents. Put your money where your mouth is, and go find a job with other anti-vaxxers and then you can all breathe all over each other as much as you want. Problem solved.

@zkr+1dB27qg7, what say you to state-mandated vaccines, such as those for school children?

@zkr+1dB27qg7 so you are saying GMO should be labeled on all packaging very clearly by law

The negative behavior here is coercing people to inject a foreign substance into their body. Such coercion should be severely punishable.

I could go either way on that. On one hand, I’m for whatever it takes to increase vaccination percentages. On the other hand, I’m not up for paying children to do the right thing. “Johnny, I’ll give you a $1 if you stop hitting your sister.” Johnny needs to be taught that negative consequences await those with negative behaviors.

“The .2% to deal with”. Roll my eyes. Maybe some of them are naturally immune or have had it before? No testing for that after almost 2 years…… so I guess it’s one solution for everyone. What a joke.
