Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I have no intention of leaving before I am cut

So far, everything has been more or less in order, but now they have started to put pressure in all possible ways. Suddenly they do everything to make me think of myself as a bad employee after more than seven years of working here.

Are they now trying to get rid of as many people as possible in this way, to make them leave on their own so they wouldn't have to give them packages and in addition, so that RIFs wouldn't look so brutal?

Anyone know if there are any RIFs coming or will the vaccine mandate take care of that and get the company to the desired headcount?

I talked to a very smart Phd from cal Tech in 2005 and he complained the same thing : that “people spaced out from work” about USSR where he had come from , I think USA transformation into USSA is very close to be complete. A culture of incompetence and spaced out employees. As the great Tim Dillon says “ there is no getting off this train , things are not going to be better “ Hahaha

Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late. I use the side door–that way my manager can’t see me. After that I sorta space out for an hour.

I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I’m working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I’d say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

It’s not that I’m lazy, it’s that I just don’t care.

We find it’s always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there’s less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

They put me on a PIP last year after I blew out my number in one month and was at 85% year to date. They finally terminated me because I was out on STD for 8 weeks. This is a very unscrupulous organization and I’m happy I’m no longer a part of it.

Stay until you are RIF’d or if they offer you VSP 2.0

I prefer my pastrami on rye. Swedish meatballs and boxty can bring it on. Boo! we are scared.

Swedish meatballs will cut ten thousand of you if he thinks it will keep him at his job for another six months. If he doesn’t, Dunne the accountant will and without a package. Don’t worry, your time is coming.

They are just creating rationalization for themselves and HR - And letting the team members know that you were RIF'ed because you were not performing [in their books]

Sleep well. Don't be taken by these mind games. Your worth can never be determined by mo--nic leadership who play their shell game to make their millions
