I thought everyone would have hotel cubes?
Some people (individual contributors) are signing into that RTO page and seeing 'assigned' as the seating type.
What determines who gets assigned or unassigned?

Desk sharing and neighborhood concept is going to be a total mess. FFS, I'm not a call center worker.
@zdg again you're trying to put words in my mouth.
Make an argument and actually defend it, if you can. Otherwise, leave.
I learn more about what's going on from reading here than from what they share with us from work.
@rnm+1d2wBaaZ
I'm not going sit at a random desk with a chair dozens of other people have been fa----g into.
You mean you only get to sit on a chair that people fa-t into if you sit on it indoor or for 8 hours? Say like at a sport events all chairs are clean because it is outdoor?
@ulq "sport events, restaurants, movies"
Sports events that are outdoors or indoors? I'm not going to any sporting events, outdoors I'd consider, indoors, no thanks.
Restaurants? Who in their right mind spends 8 hours a day in a restaurant if you don't work there/own it?
Movies? How many 8 hour movies do you attend that are packed audiences? Or back-to-back 4-hour movies with a 1-hour intermission.
Do you even think about your attempted analogies before writing them?
@enw the entire air volume of the airplanes cabin is cycled about 15 times per hour.
Get WF to do that on each floor and you have a relevant argument.
@zdc+1d2wBaaZ. You go to sport events, restaurants, movies etc??? Good news you don’t have to go back to work at all. No one will miss you

But you'd fly on a plane right?
I'm not going sit at a random desk with a chair dozens of other people have been fa----g into.
On our new floor, most people have assigned seating, but almost 50 of us are open seating. We're all reqd. to come into office the same amount, so why isn't seating arrangement equitable?
This is bllsht!
There's gonna' be a mutiny based on these senseless decisions.
I'm surprised they haven't sent a communication about this. I learned about the updated location info from this site and shared it with my coworkers. Lots of questions about it. Of course we're all spread out across the country, so some have assigned seats, some unassigned, and some 100% remote. Contributes to ill-will.
Most companies are doing hotel cubes. Well the financial industry, anyway.
Based on location type. Some locations are flex seating and some are neighborhood. Decisions were based off your home address within teamworks. Within 40 miles, you go into office.
No idea. My office didn’t change, one of my employees moved to fully remote. Pieced together by the same computer program determining who is laid off and who isn’t? Makes no sense.
Take it as a sign that someone in the chain where you work gives a damn about protecting you.
Pretty awesome for this place.
It's been decided by each business group. Probably your manager's manager.
