Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Is this happening to you too?

So our manager told us that all the new Iphones were reserved for new lines only. We tell existing customers the phone must be ordered online because we are out of stock. Meanwhile there are phones on the shelf... I don't feel comfortable doing this. Should I go to HR? Any other teams getting told to do this?

@3bks+1cYsPRL9, this is just another awkward situation I was also brought into.
I don’t even know how to deal with this situation?

We are not screwing existing customers - they have a means to order them while we have jobs to keep and quotas to hit. You're a damn fool if you dont put you & your family's needs first to keep your job and bring home the paycheck. Go work in Customer Service i you dont like sales

You must be new here. This has always been the case on iPhone launch. This was the case when I worked at indirect for another company as well. I think you need to realize how sales jobs work. You can cry to your HR rep or whoever, they don’t care.

No phones in stock just a few 12 pro maxes, se.s and a couple of Xr s no 13 series. Our customer base thinks there is unlimited amounts in this era of supply issues. The job is beyond ridiculous, no new iPhone s to sell or even older models? Sorry, no integrity issues at our location, just no supply, also like all years phone is backordered.Customers want instant gratification.(high demand)

This is a major integrity issue. All you need is an existing customer to realize what's going on and heads will roll.

With the supply problems thats going on if we did help all our pathetic customers with non pay upgrades that don't buy accessories, insurance or pull thru, we wouldn't have Any phones too sell! Let them go to our resellers they still get paid for upgrades, so till the supply changes ( demand is high) don't be concerned for these customers getting their new iPhone. Just have a good demeanor and put a smile under your mask because the anti employee survey will pay you more than a whiner that tells you " I want to upgrade" and shop for their accessories in front of you and goes to Apple for Apple care. Smile and say no stock.

Yeah so managers are doing this to make their metrics look good since no one but managers care about metrics. I'm telling you this company is a joke.

this has been standard practice in corp stores since the iPhone came to Verizon. Save the stock indefinitely for people switching over or adding lines of service. We even did it last Friday.

So you're ok screwing over the existing customer since it doesn't help you but hurts your company? Go find another place to work you loser.

Even though it’ makes little to no difference new lines do help our commissions in regards to multipliers. Once again I understand it makes very LITTLE difference but upgrades make zero difference. With that said I would support that stance because our quotas are sky high as it is so any way to help our cause is good. It’s not that any slamming is going on....well with new line phones anyway.
