I was emailed a request from HR to update my personal email address which had been my work email address. Should I be worried?

I got the same message and put in my personal email. Yes, it could be prelude to a layoff for both of us but I don't think living in fear is good. Sometimes and emails address is just an email address.
It's a bank... notorious for over engineering risk and compliance protocols. Having your personal email is just a protection layer for them. If they need to send out an email blast that your office is closed because, ya know, covid, then odds are higher you'll see it on your personal email.
I can’t even imagine why you’d be worried about this. Not everything is the big bad wolf trying to get you. You can put in a burner or a totally fake address if that makes you happy.
If you offered in the past your work email instead of your personal email, Wells will ask for the personal. Don't worry.

Your "personal" email address is NOT your "work" email. Why are you even posting this here? I'm sorry, but this is a d-mb question.
No company can make you give them your own personal email address if it is separate from your work email address.
Yes....end is near.
Be worried. Rip your career. Also see the other topic with this info
No. Anyone that had their wellsfargo.com e-mail as their personal e-mail was instructed to update it to their personal e-mail. Don't worry.
