Do Not Ever Move For this Company

Don't do it! I was supposed to relocate to a hub this Fall. I backed out. Was the d-mbest idea ever. I quit.

Yes because one size fits all. More bad advice on a site filled with BS and inaccuracies.
I moved for this company and benefitted personally as well as significantly financially as a result. And no I am not in senior leadership. Just a worker who made things happen for myself and did not blame others or make excuses. Just like in real life there are many variables with every move and opportunity. You have to dig in and make a positive impact for yourself and avoid the distractions and derailment that negativity can bring.

I moved for me, it being good for the company was secondary.

The only way I would move would be if they pay for relocation. Last time they moved me, it came with a de-facto i commitment--essentially that if I leave the company within 2 years I'd pay back the relocation assistance, but if they lay me off then I'm off the hook... Making it somewhat less likely to cut the position.

When I factor in what's going on with both the bank and the market, I would certainly not move. First, you will foot the bill. Second, as the bank continues to contract, you'd still be at risk of being laid off. If they bank, say, paid for my move AND guaranteed me employment for maybe two years, I'd consider it.

Nice. One less severance check for the Company to pay.

Wow, notices for HUB relocation began, even though we are still mired in this mess. Leadership will change the RTO date again… I call BS on the OP
