college grads are cheap, but company pay with big mistakes; that is why they need experienced workforce. They can use college grads in entry level jobs with guardrails to minimize the risks.
West coast is best coast.

We will do EVERY effort not to lay off new grads. Access to campus recrutiting is critical to us and they HATE when you lay off new grads within 12 months of recrutiting them. I am on the tech side and there is a war for talent going in campus recruitement centers and we will never do anything to pi-s colleges off...
Much more economical to cut the older people rather than the new grads. We older ones get paid more.
@evc+1cpNFTGZ there is a low probability of a new grad being cut as wf is also pushing the recruitment of new grads at this time

Can anyone answer whether a manager must inform the displaced individual(s) by a specific time? What is that deadline for the West Coast?
what are the total numbers of those affected; are most in tech and ics?
One of my favorite hard working managers of all time was given notice today and promptly kicked off all systems immediately afterwards. Luckily they were happy to be laid off, but had to call and ask if I could look up the severance policy since they were given no information or ability to look themselves, or even say goodbye other than by personal contact.

Jeopardize your severance to satisfy the curiosity of people you don't know? I wouldn't. Maybe that's just me.
How is it outing themselves by saying what area? And if they were the one laid off, why would they care?

Nobody is going to out themselves on an anonymous internet board. I know a few who were let go this morning so far and I wouldn't say anything on here.

QA title holders were given notices but where???
All LoBs are impacted.
People with QA titles were given notice today.
OP, do you have info on what departments are impacted?
