This is actually an excellent question. I wouldn't be surprised if breakrooms were closed.

RTO has nothing to do with "Return to Office".

It has EVERYTHING to do with constructing a work environment that encourages turnover, with the intent of not having to pay severance.

I love how the one speaker unintentionally mentioned all the bad things about RTO. Get ready to wake up earlier, change your schedule to figure out a new workout time, get your kids used to you being away from them, figure out new child care of your old one is now closed. I can’t wait to elbow bump at the water cooler. That makes up for it. We have water coolers, right?

you do realize that we all commuted, had doctors appointments, and dealt with our family schedules prior to covid. Just do the same. As for medical exemptions, you will need to submit a workplace accomodations request and will work with hr and your manager. If the accomodations is working from home then you get to work from home, if not and they do something in the office to accommodate you will be SOL and have to come in or quit. outside of that you would need operations committee approval.

They say you must wear a mask, but no rules on what kind. Examples - halloween masks, masks made of fishing net, or thin fabric like stockings. If you have trouble breathing in a mask (asthma) then just wear one with open weave fabric. Or an N95 with an exhale valve, I like those best.

Exactly my plan. To do more would be exceeding expectations, and we generally don’t get recognized for that anymore, so what’s the point?

Wow, just wow. The RTO email that came out today was so bad. Who approved this? Explain to your kids why you won’t be home! Seriously? Love the part about fewer printers because we’re reducing our carbon footprint but hey, let’s get 200,000 people back driving on the roads! Lol

There are things one can do to continually send the message that being in the office is primarily for lower functioning adults.

• Only work 8 hours on your office days. No flexibility. If a meeting notice comes in outside your 8 hours, either decline it or mark it tentative if you can only attend the first half before your 8 hours are up. You have a life outside WF. You don't owe anyone an answer as to why you're not staying late or coming in early.

• Don't stress yourself out to work at a speed that is uncomfortable, given the low-rent 'neighborhood' digs, all day mask, etc. You're going to be working slower because being in the office is demonstrably inefficient compared to WFH if you're a normal person. But, this is what Wells says it wants.

And so forth. You get the idea.

In the same not with disability. They knew that when they hired me several years ago and my latest team too.

Personally I don’t think they want an ADA violation on their hands. I would definitely let every social media, print media and TV outlet know about that too.

What about for people who have a doctor’s note because they have asthma? I find it hard to believe that you would need an executive approval for a mask exception for something like that. Then again, this is WFC, so…

Our team was never required to go to an office although some did...but if a few of us are in Fort Mill, a few in CIC and a few uptown...how is this neighborhood nonsense going to work? Or are they going to force our team into one location and make the rest of us have hellish commutes? My manager doesn't know. And the whole mask bs...that's a deal breaker for me. When I said I would look into getting a letter from my doctor my manager said he heard any accommodations have to be approved by Perry Pelos?? How can that be if I am listed with a disability in my profile and have a doctor note?? Crazy....

Lately RTO has taken on a new meaning for me and I'm sure many of you: "Wake up and get your @ss out of bed or off the couch and back into the 5th bedroom office!"

So are these holier than thou execs going to be sitting in neighborhood shared workspaces every day too? Will they be subject to the 3 days a week in office policy?

The plan to return to office will be as smooth as the Afghanistan exit.

They definitely don't know how to read the room. Did we really need to see big smiling pictures? And reminders about how to parent? Send me an email when you have a firm date and location for me to go. Otherwise, it's all self-promoting fluff.

Other banks are delaying RTO. So settle down, you're not going in yet.

As far as masks go, they are not 100% perfect, the idea is to slow the spread in case you have the virus.

It's a compromise, to allow some normal life, while preventing overloading your local ICU ward.

It's not a sneaky plot to rule the world because that's just about as silly as sharks with lazer beams, the difference being lazer beam sharks are scary and your fear-mongering about a little piece of cloth on the bottom half of your face is just pathetic.

Good observation. However, I'd like to point out that you can't drink your coffee with a facemask on. So I guess they got that part right. Although, I also wouldn't be smiling like that or at all walking around the office whether or not there's COVID.

If you show up and all the seats are taken, you simply go back home and finish the day from home.

Notice I said 'finish' the day from home.

The clock doesn't start ticking when I arrive back home. The clock started ticking when I arrived at the office where there was no place to sit.

Captain obvious solution the eludes execs: Let those the want to RTO do so. Let the rest of us continue WFH.

Forced RTO is beyond ridiculous. Drive across town to sit on calls. What dummy thinks this is smart?

I’m not worrying about RTO. As cases climb, again, there is the ongoing increased probability of postponement as happened monthly in 2020. The higher ups don’t know what they’re doing, as usual.

I knew Elli was going to be a monster but how awful a human do you have to be to say: "Your kiddos need to get use to the idea that you wont be home for them anymore because we said butts in seats".

Can't wait to sit in traffic for an hour so i can go sit in a cube to be in a mask on skype calls all day during a surge in cases.

So are they going to have hallway monitors enforcing who is wearing a mask or not?

I'm most curious about how breakrooms are going to work.

Looks like they don’t think that new COVID stats are real and they believe those numbers since they are still pushing RTO so very hard.

I had an interview with another large company and they're all doing this. No more assigned seats.

Groups are returning in waves. I feel sorry for those of us in the first wave who'll be the bank's guinea pigs.

By their rational, using a different cube everyday is somehow more sanitary. Clueless!

Make sure you get up earlier to get to your unassigned seat, get that bu-t in the seat early folks, it's first come, first served! They think so much of you all!

Last week they posted in the RTO FAQ site that masks are required.
