Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

How does severance pay work?

Is severance pay paid out in one lump sum or as big weekly paycheck for the duration of time such as 10 weeks etc? Thanks

Don’t forget if you get offer of position in Humana and pay not good and you don’t take position you forfeit your severance. They forget to tell ya that one

It would be best if you read the policy, that explains it clearly. Go to Associate Support Center and search reduction in force.

Regarding severance and PTO, what deductions are taken out? The normal like insurance, short term disability, 401k, federal, Medicare, etc...?

You will receive information about severance after a layoff. If you have secured another position within Humana prior to the stated last day of work after the layoff, severance will not come into play. If you have secured another position outside of Humana and leave prior to your last day of work, severance will not be paid out. If you get to your last day of work that they provided in your severance package and are official lates off, first any unused PTO is exhausted and paid out. Then your severance will start and you will get paid just as you usually would biweekly until all of your severance is paid out. Hope this helps :)
