Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is there a chance to receive severance?

If they make vaccines mandatory for everybody, is there a way to quit and receive severance? Companies pay severance to make sure employees don't sue them, I don't see why this would be any different? This would solve so many issues for so many people, myself included.

And how do we know that 300 out of 1M doctors is even a representative sample? Some of the PhDs in the larger study are obviously in other fields, but why are you discounting the ones that are? And moving goalposts? That pretty rich coming from big pharma...errr...the pro vax crowd. First they said 95% efficacy, oops. Then they said if you were fully vaccinated you wouldn't spread. Oops. Then they said you could go maskless if fully vaccinated, oops. After 2 shots they said you were "fully vaccinated", now we're likely days away from another oops where they tell us that you'll need a jab every 6 months for the rest of your life, because you know, big pharma needs more $.

Just a matter of time before they tell us that the vax has weakened our natural immune system response to the point where we need some new shots to compensate. And on and on it will go until you're sitting there with a 24/7 IV and a wifi enabled thermometer up your *** so they can 'keep you safe' from something that really wasn't a threat to you in the first place.

Just 2 weeks to bend the curve. Trust us.

@1tnk+1cnUOVfA You are misinterpreting data, yet again. There is nothing in that UPMC study indicating that the PhD's polled were even in hard science fields, they could be English majors, basketweaving doctorates, etc. Whereas the MD's are actually selected for a group actually educated in medicine, and when this was published in June, there were far fewer health providers issuing mandates, and nothing indicates they were in any way coerced to be vaccinated. You are casting aspersions on data you don't understand, just to keep moving your goalposts back.

I am not going to respond to more of your bad faith arguments, since realistically, a year and a half into the pandemic, if you're still trying to bend reality to meet your bizarre antivax agenda, you aren't really in possession of the critical thinking skills and honesty adults use to come to rational decisions.

Your study has a sample size of 300, the other one over a million. Also it's ridiculous to suggest that many other PhDs beyond practicing physicians aren't capable of interpreting medical data. They clearly are. Some could be retired physicians, or those that have moved on to other fields, or ones that are currently stay at home moms/dad's etc. Some are in related fields. Some simply know how to read/interpret other's studies. The fact remains, the results of a very large study suggest that the most educated are the least likely to accept the jab. Spin that all you want, it's reality. A sample of 300 doesn't change that. Practicing physicians are also the ones most likely to be required / coerced by their employer to be jabbed, so the % isn't shocking.

OP, are you stupid, or just trolling?

No, Wells Fargo will not give you a severance package if you quit.

You will have to pay for your own bad decisions, sorry.

Wells Fargo won’t lead in this area. Watch trends in other industries, and then among our competitors. But the short answer is: you never get severance if you quit, no matter what your reason.

Once there is formal approval (vs the emergency auth we have now), you’ll see a dramatic acceleration of the trend we’re already seeing about requiring vaccinations. Even though there is only emergency authorization at present, courts have ruled that it can be mandated as a condition of employment. The Pfizer vaccine permanent authorization is expected shortly

Google has already said that they will require people to be in office and that the vaccine will be required for anyone in the office. There will be religious and medical exemptions, but the CEO already has characterized any other reason as “political” and said to speak with HR about your options… which is google-speak for: Your HR rep will tell you that you need to find another job or get vaccinated.

Of course all of this could take yet another twist if another variant emerges… bottom line is that right now this is only going in one direction….

No, the MD’s who do understand the science are overwhelmingly vaccinated, but nice try once again

PhDs are the most hesitant eh? Interesting, maybe those that have read the science and understand it are hesitant for a reason...

An idea so good, you're forced to threaten people's career to get obedience! Isn't that how all great ideas are propagated? Pretty sure it is.

Being paid short term to quit your job while you remain vulnerable to a highly contagious and dangerous disease solves a lot of problems for you?

Yeah, we all have the problem of wanting free money and no responsibility.

If that's the case there's nothing to fear from RTO or COVID and no mandates required. Wear a mask and done.

"mandates do nothing"

Yes, even the vaccinated can both get infected and spread COVID. But there's plenty of evidence -- if you care to look -- that masks work.

It appears to really unnerve people to realize that they are in fact the problem, and a self righteous problem at that.

Note how one side insists on using insults? Everyone that disagrees with them needs to "grow up", or as a "du----s", or whatever. It's ridiculous, and actually has the opposite effect that they intend. It's the "don't shoot the signs effect" in action.

You know you're doing something wrong when you have to threaten / bully people to control their healthcare decisions. The argument that 'the unvaccinated are spreading it!' is dead. It's been proven in multiple studies that everyone spreads it, so mandates do nothing but increase risk of employees unknowingly being infected and spreading.

Simple solution, grow up and get the shot.

This site lets me know it’s some real d-mb assess that work at this company!!!
Why would they pay you because you decided not to get the vaccine? This company is looking to cut cost; have you missed every Town hall and Quarterly Financial update given where they discuss cost cutting.

Three options:
1) Get vaccinated and stay employed
2) Don’t get vaccinated and are no longer employed by WF, you can find a job at non- Fortune 500 that may believe in employees rights over stock margins and gains
3) Or get let go, and try to fight it in the courts. Good luck finding an attorney that wants to take on WF in a case that has been reviewed Multiple times by more qualified attorneys than yours you hired…. You are going to spend your entire savings account plus some trying to fight a case you won’t win!!! Religious exemptions are so hard to win and prove in a cases like this!!! It’s a health crisis and you have no idea if that judge has had family members die from covid!!! Do you even have case law to support this argument????

Moral and religious exemption, if a mandate happens. Massive lawsuit if you have any side effects occur.

WF is At Will, which means you are at will of the employer. They can let you go because you refuse the vaccine. You would not be entitled to unemployment or severance as you voluntarily left because you refused a mandated vaccine.

Either get the vaccine or hopefully you got something saved…

They who? Wells Fargo? First of all, Wells would never take the lead on this. They’ll wait to see what the other big banks do, then follow suit. Legal experts have already opined that employers can require vaccination as a condition of further employment. If Wells decides to take that step, I’d expect they’d set a deadline, then fire those who refuse to get vaxxed without a valid reason. Layoff with severance?? Why would they do that when tons of folks are clamoring for that opportunity? And ton of others wouldn’t have the opportunity because we care about public health and were vaxxed months ago. Your suggestion would just be rewarding bad behavior.
