Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Make sure those badges work. Sure I will.πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Got notified yesterday by my one up to insure my badge was still viable (and also to make sure I still had it). Not really a big surprise. I knew it was eventually coming. We had already had it mentioned during a larger org meeting that it the as on their RTO β€œto do” list for October. Office anxiety aside, I found it a little unusual that out of a group of 9 direct reports, that I was the only one to get that notice from my one up. She should have sent it as part of a larger distribution. All 9 of us work in the same office, after all?

We have a somewhat contentious, passive aggressive relationship. She hates me. I hate her. It’s a whole thing. The prospect of RTO and having to deal with this individual in person again is keeping me up at night. Walking away isn’t something I take lightly after 12 years, but the psychological back and forth, being warehoused for 18 months at home, not being communicated with, and left out of the loop till the last possible moment on decisions that impact workflows and overall organizational productivity has become common place.. and I work in corporate risk.

So, the long and short, should I just quit now (I’m going to do it anyway) or wait to see what happens in October with Covid surging and increased chatter of domestic unrest in the US? I feel like Wells Fargo is just going to let it rip and take their chances on RTO, only to have to reverse course due to optics and mismanaged threat assessments.

Call their bluff or fold?

I received a similar email, which I ignored.

My suggestion to the OP is to start applying for another job. Don't quit just yet.

If you get a better job, then great! If it takes a while to find a better job, that's good too, because you're still bringing home a paycheck.

And maybe you'll get lucky and get a severance and then get a better job! Total win.

If you're seeking career advice here, you've got bigger problems than a contentious work relationship.

You seem to take things way to seriously. Relax and laugh off the small stuff. It's really not that big of a deal. If you don't want to work in an office, find a remote job elsewhere. It's pretty simple.

Wait a bit. RTO could very well get pushed back.

Domestic unrest in the US? Where’d you hear that from?

The best thing you can do for yourself is to leave as soon as you can. I can feel your pain in your words. I was you. I left ("retired") at age 61. I was fortunate enough to have the means to do so without another job in the wings. I have taken 7 months off and have just now had any interest to dip my toes back into the jib market (it won't be banking).

Your sense of self and being unburden of the weight of this sh!tshow is worth stepping away. Best of luck to you.

PS; any chance your manager's initials are TSK? Your manager sounds like my old manager!

The reason why you got that email is not because of rto, well maybe partly, it's because we went to a new system of reading cards.

@op don’t you wish you could review your manager? Why is it they want us to provide names for feesback but we can never provide feedback on them

Fold. Wells Fargo is just a shill (false front).. most of the people who work here are too. If you can leave, leave. I would if I could.🀷🏻
