Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

You have to love people getting Sr risk director jobs

You have to love people getting Sr Risk Director or Director roles when they have absolutely zero risk experience. Just saw someone who had been in an HR function with zero real risk experience have this happen. Minimum job requirements are pffff

This “issue” seems rampant in this Firm. It’s doesn’t seem to matter what you know and what experiences you bring to the table but what’s key is who you know. Yes, this happens everywhere but at Wells this seems to be the “It” thing to do to get these management roles. The relationship training they forced us to take is a joke, just to cya. Oh yes, that’s right the non decision makers are forced to take this while the decision makers are doing it so blatantly without a worry in the world. Some of us are working hard to turn this company around and yet you have leadership that only cares about their own bottom line and surround themselves with yes people. Bravo!! This is while why the hard workers and SMEs are leaving and why this company will never regain its glory n just sink further into regulatory, operational and financial abyss.

There’s no point in calling the ethics line because it simply goes nowhere. If it does, then why is it just so blatant and rampant? Nothing gets done, they are a joke along with HR who looks the other way when leadership onboards their golf buddies, friends and family with zero experience. This place is disgusting and surrounded with huge number of leadership with zero ethics.

Short termers with connections that want the risk bullet point on their resume for when they move on in a couple years. Nothing to see, move along!

They don't want people with experience questioning leadership. The d-mber they are, the more "yes" people they are.

Yes , this is the norm now. The director level openings in the Risk functions are particularly rampant with kids with 7-10 years or no experience at all. Look at the directors in the control functions, especially tech control. Their senior managers in many cases have a far better education and experience than their directors . It is pathetical especially for CT risk team.
